Post-processing apparatus and image forming apparatus system
A post-processing apparatus includes a post-processing unit configured to receive sheets from an image forming apparatus, perform processing on the received sheets, and then discharge the processed sheets through a discharge port. A sensor is configured to detect a presence of an object at the discharge port. The sensor includes a first light emitter on a first side of the discharge port that is positioned to emit a light across a width of the discharge port, a reflector on a second side of the discharge port opposite the first side in a first direction, and a first light receiver positioned to receive light of the first light emitter from the reflector. A controller is configured to terminate the processing on the received sheets by the post-processing unit when the sensor detects the presence of the object at the discharge port.
Printing apparatus including optical sensor located at conveying region through which label passes
A printing apparatus includes a casing, an optical sensor, a second light receiving portion and an adjustment part. The optical sensor includes a light emitting portion and a first light receiving portion. The optical sensor is provided at a position in the vicinity of the outlet and located within a conveying region. The conveying region is an area through which the print medium passes. The second light receiving portion is provided in the vicinity of the optical sensor and positioned outside the conveying region where external light is perceivable. The adjustment part is configured to adjust a sensitivity in the detection of the presence of the print medium by the first light receiving portion. Adjustment of the sensitivity of the first light receiving portion is performed based on an intensity of the external light received at the second light receiving portion.

Recording Medium Detecting Device, Image Forming Device, Image Forming System, Recording Medium Detecting Method, And Non-Transitory Recording Medium Storing Computer Readable Program
The present invention provides a recording medium detecting device, an image forming device, an image forming system, a recording medium detecting method, and a non-transitory recording medium storing a computer readable program capable of detecting a grain direction of a recording medium. A recording medium detecting device has: a sensor capable of detecting a recording medium from a first detection direction and a second detection direction different from the first detection direction; and a control unit. The control unit determines a grain direction of a recording medium from first surface property data obtained when the recording medium is detected from the first detection direction and second surface property data obtained when the recording medium is detected from the second detection direction.
MAGNETIC INK READING DEVICE AND PRINTER
A magnetic ink reading device includes a housing having a slot through which a medium is inserted, a roller driven by a motor by which the medium is conveyed along a conveyance path, one or more sensors arranged along the conveyance path and configured to detect the medium at one or more respective positions, a magnetic head configured to read a magnetic pattern formed on the medium with magnetic ink, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the motor to convey the medium inserted through the slot, measure a length in a conveyance direction of the medium using outputs from the sensors, and control the magnetic head to read the magnetic pattern from the medium while controlling the motor to continuously convey the medium for a period corresponding to the measured length.
Sheet detection mechanism and image forming apparatus equipped therewith
According to the present disclosure, a first guide unit is provided with a first opening portion through which light in an optical path connecting a first optical element unit and a second optical element unit passes, a second guide unit is provided with a second opening portion through which light in the optical path connecting the first optical element unit and the second optical element unit passes, the first guide unit is provided with a duct for sending air to the first optical element unit, and the air coming out from the first opening portion hits the second optical element unit via the second opening portion.
