Image reading apparatus and control method thereof
An image reading apparatus includes a reading unit, a transport unit that transport a document, a feeding unit that transports the document to the transport unit, a controller that stops the feeding operation of the feeding unit after the leading end of the preceding document transported from the feeding unit reaches the transport unit and restarts the feeding operation after the rear end of the preceding document passes a predetermined position. The controller, restarts the feeding operation a first time after the rear end of the succeeding document following the preceding document passes the predetermined position when a size of the preceding document indicates a first size, and restarts the feeding operation a second time after the rear end of the succeeding document passes the predetermined position where the second time is longer than the first time when the size indicates a second size larger than the first size.

Sheet processing apparatus
A sheet processing apparatus comprising: a conveying unit configured to have a roller that conveys a sheet in a conveyance direction; a first detecting device disposed downstream of the conveying unit in the conveyance direction; a second detecting device disposed downstream of the first detecting device in the conveyance direction; a boring unit configured to have a punch that performs boring in the sheet; and a control unit is used. The first detecting device and the second detecting device each detect passage of a leading edge of the sheet being conveyed. The control unit calculates an actual conveyance speed of the sheet on the basis of detection results of the first detecting device and the second detecting device, and controls rotation of the roller, on the basis of the actual conveyance speed, so that the sheet is conveyed at a predetermined target speed.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DISPENSING A PRINTED DOCUMENT FROM A PRINTER MACHINE USING A DISPENSING DEVICE
Disclosed are methods and systems for dispensing a printed document from a printer machine with a dispensing device. For instance, a document being printed out from the printer machine may be monitored for, and a determination that a document is being printed out from the printer machine may be made based on the monitoring. The printed document may be engaged with an arm mechanism of the dispensing device, the printed document may be urged towards a slot of the dispensing device with the arm mechanism, and the printed document may be dispensed out of the slot with the arm mechanism.
SORTER CAPABLE OF IDENTIFYING ACTUAL LOCATION OF FIRST ACTUATOR TRAVELING ALONG PLURALITY OF SHEET OUTPUT TRAYS
A sorter includes a plurality of sheet output trays, a first actuator, a transferring mechanism, a control device, and a plurality of tray full detection mechanisms. The first actuator travels along the plurality of sheet output trays to guide a sheet onto any one of the plurality of sheet output trays. The transferring mechanism transfers the first actuator. The control device controls an operation of the transferring mechanism. The plurality of tray full detection mechanisms are provided one for each of the plurality of sheet output trays. Each of the plurality of tray full detection mechanisms includes a second actuator and a tray full detection sensor. The control device identifies an actual location of the first actuator based on a change of a detection signal produced by a change in attitude of the second actuator due to transfer of the first actuator and output from the tray full detection sensor.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS THAT VARIES SIZE OF TRANSMISSION APERTURE FOR LIGHT FROM LIGHT EMITTER OF SHEET SENSOR, BY ROTATING EACH OF TWO ACTUATORS EACH HAVING SLIT
A sheet feeding device includes a sheet table, a sheet sensor, a first actuator including a contact portion and a first screen, and a second actuator including an effector and a second screen. The first actuator rotates in a second direction when the contact portion is lifted by a sheet, and rotates in a first direction when the contact portion falls into a hole. The second actuator rotates in the second direction such that the second slit overlaps with the first slit, when the effector is subjected to pressure of the sheet. The first slit is formed so as to differ a size of an aperture, depending on whether the contact portion is in contact with the sheet, or in the hole. The second slit is formed so as to reduce the size of the aperture compared with when the effector is free from the pressure.
