ACCUMULATOR FOR MANUFACTURING FIBER OPTIC CABLES, MANUFACTURING SYSTEM HAVING SUCH AN ACCUMULATOR, AND RELATED METHODS
An accumulator for making fiber optic cables includes a frame, a first pulley array mounted to the frame and having a first plurality of pulleys, and a second pulley array mounted to the frame and having a second plurality of pulleys. The first pulley array and the second pulley array are movable relative to each other so as to be positionable on opposite sides of each other. A manufacturing system including an unwinder, a winder, and the accumulator is disclosed. A method of threading the accumulator is disclosed that advantageously uses the relative movement of the first and second pulley arrays across each other to simplify threading. A method of making fiber optic cables where the unwinder operates with more than one accumulator is also disclosed.
TAPE APPLICATOR HEAD
An applicator head for applying an adhesive tape on a surface or substrate, wherein the adhesive tape comprises a material and at least one removable liner, the applicator head comprising: an application tip; a cutting mechanism positioned adjacent an outer most point of the application tip; a positioning device is configured such that the cutting mechanism severs the material while maintaining the at least one removable liner intact.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR A ROBOTIC TAPE APPLICATOR
A system comprising: a source of a tape comprising a material associated with an adhesive and at least one removable liner; an applicator head; a cutting mechanism; at least one drive feeding mechanism configured to index the tape from the source to the applicator head at a controlled rate; wherein the applicator head is controllable to apply the material on a surface or a substrate; and wherein the applicator head comprises a cutting mechanism configured to sever the material while leaving the at least one removable liner intact.

A spinning apparatus with continuous adjustment of a yarn accumulation system includes at least one spinning head including a spinning device including a spinning chamber for yarn production, a reel on which yarn produced by the spinning device is wound, the reel being rotatably influenced by a yarn guide shaped to impart a rotation movement of the reel for winding the yarn and a traversing movement of the yarn winding on the reel, an accumulation device arranged between the spinning device and the reel and shaped to create a reservoir of yarn not wound on the reel, a joining device including joining means to join together a first yarn end associated with the spinning device and a second yarn end associated with the reel, and a processing and control unit programmed to control the yarn guide to adjust accordingly the amount of yarn accumulated in the accumulation device.
YARN STORAGE DEVICE FOR A YARN PROCESSING MACHINE
The present invention relates to a yarn storage device for a yarn processing machine, a method for supplementing a yarn store in said yarn storage device and a yarn processing machine provided with said yarn storage device, wherein the yarn storage device comprises storage units (2, 7) and loading means (3) in order to add yarn in a selected storage unit, wherein at least one storage unit comprises a winding holder (7) that is provided to keep a yarn store in a state wound round a holder body (7c), and wherein preferably yarn is added in windings with a winding diameter (D.sub.1) that is greater than the radial dimensions (D.sub.3) of the holder body (7c).

The present invention relates to a yarn storage device for a yarn processing machine, a method for supplementing a yarn store in said yarn storage device and a yarn processing machine provided with said yarn storage device, wherein the yarn storage device comprises storage units (2, 7) and loading means (3) in order to add yarn in a selected storage unit, wherein at least one storage unit comprises a winding holder (7) that is provided to keep a yarn store in a state wound round a holder body (7c), and wherein preferably yarn is added in windings with a winding diameter (D.sub.1) that is greater than the radial dimensions (D.sub.3) of the holder body (7c).
