A cleaning, disinfecting, care and/or sterilization device for at least one medical or dental instrument comprising a housing, a treatment chamber for receiving the at least one medical or dental instrument, a media supply for feeding and/or discharging media into the treatment chamber and a control unit operable to control and/or regulate a cleaning, disinfecting, care and/or sterilization process, wherein the control unit comprises a wireless communication device to communicate with remote accessories of the cleaning, disinfecting, care and/or sterilization device and wherein the wireless communication device is capable of creating a wireless local area network allowing the remote accessories to communicate with the control unit of the cleaning, disinfecting, care and/or sterilization device.

A dental handpiece and a dental cleaning procedure are disclosed. The dental handpiece includes an inner barrel for rotatably retaining an ultrasonic insert, the inner barrel configured for contacting the ultrasonic insert with a cooling fluid in the inner barrel, a coil unit arranged and disposed to apply an alternating magnetic field to the ultrasonic insert when positioned in the inner barrel, an outer sheath extending around at least a portion of the coil unit. The dental handpiece includes flow regions permitting steam, chemicals, and heat to flow into the inner barrel and out of the inner barrel during a sterilization technique. The dental cleaning procedure includes operating the dental handpiece and autoclaving the dental handpiece.

The present dental tool cleaning device generally provides a possibility to clean the burrs and brushes (files) of the remained tooth material on them after operation on patient. An improved dental tool cleaning device includes a container, comprising a lower portion which includes a neck with an opening and a first lid with a first nozzle, and an upper portion which includes a second lid comprising a second nozzle and an inlet fluid connector with the fluid channel.

An absorbent cleaning device for use during a surgical procedure is disclosed. The absorbent cleaning device may comprise a substantially non-fibrous or non-particulate absorbent material and at least one opening. The opening may comprise a slit or channel and be configured to accommodate a portion of a medical appliance or an elongate medical device. The absorbent cleaning device may be configured to clean the medical appliance or the elongate medical device. The absorbent cleaning device may also be configured to retain or secure a medical appliance or elongate medical device during a surgical procedure.

An oral appliance cleaning and storage device includes a housing, a top cap, and a bottom cap. The housing includes a first/wet compartment configured for receiving an oral appliance and a second/dry compartment configured for receiving at least one cleaner, breath mint, or other accessory.

A method for recording the number of sterilizations of a piece for a medical device. The piece can be a motor and/or a handpiece. The piece includes a temperature sensor and/or a pressure sensor and/or a humidity sensor and/or an angular position. The method includes the following steps: inserting the piece into the sterilization camber; detecting the sterilization based on the temperature and/or the pressure and/or the humidity and/or the angular position in which the handpiece is received in the sterilization chamber by the temperature sensor and/or the pressure sensor (102) and/or the humidity sensor and/or the angular position sensor. This solution allows recording of the number of sterilizations of a handpiece and/or a motor for a medical device, in particular for a dental device.

A porous material for insertion cleaning of instruments is provided, such porous material including an at least partially open-cell foam body and a surface configured to enable an instrument having contaminants to be inserted into the body. The body may be configured to substantially grip the instrument to remove a substantial portion of the contaminants from the instrument.

An endodontic instrument servicing system may comprise a socket-forming member that may include spaced wall members that define a socket. An at least partially open-cell foam body may be secured within the socket that is configured for cleaning contaminated instruments. The present invention relates to a dental scanner holding apparatus and a dental scanner system including the same. The apparatus may include a holding unit configured to have a dental scanner held therein, a holding detection unit configured to detect whether the dental scanner has been held in the holding unit, a humidity detection unit configured to detect humidity within the holding unit, a control unit configured to generate a sterilization signal based on a result of the detection of the holding detection unit regarding whether the dental scanner has been held in the holding unit and to generate a dehumidification signal based on the humidity detected by the humidity detection unit, an ultraviolet sterilization unit configured to radiate ultraviolet rays into the holding unit in response to the sterilization signal, and a ventilation unit configured to send air into the holding unit in response to the dehumidification signal.

In accordance with the invention, method for cleaning and maintaining a medical, in particular dental, treatment instrument is provided, in which the instrument is cleaned with the aid of a cleaning agent (I) and is subsequently maintained by means of an oil-containing maintenance agent (V). In this connection, prior to supplying the oil-containing maintenance agent (V) in the first instance the cleaning agent is substantially completely removed in a rinsing step (III). As a result of the removal of the cleaning agent, it is possible to achieve a situation where the oil-containing maintenance agent can have a better effect. In particular, it is thus possible to reduce the risk that residues of the cleaning agent, which are still located in the interior of the treatment instrument after the cleaning process, negatively impair effective lubrication at sliding and bearing points of the treatment instrument by the oil-containing maintenance agent.
