Tensioning device for aircraft refueling boom hoist
10807734 · 2020-10-20 · ·

A power spring passively applies tension to a cable connected to an aircraft refueling boom. The power spring has a first end engaging a fixed arbor and second end engaging a rotatable spooling drum around which a portion of the cable is wound. The power spring biases the drum to rotate in a winding direction to apply tension to the cable, and the power spring stores energy when the drum rotates in an unwinding direction. The power spring may be located inside the drum or outside the drum. The drum may be actively driven by a motor that may be uncoupled from the drum to permit freewheeling rotation of the drum, wherein the power spring continues to apply tension to the cable. The invention eliminates reliance on one or more powered motors for removing unwanted slack in the cable.

A spindle unit includes a support shaft, an electromagnetic air-gap brake, a spindle member, and a coupler. The support shaft is attached to the stationary frame of a creel. The brake is connected to the front end of the support shaft. The spindle member is rotatably supported by the support shaft in a state in which the support shaft and the brake are inserted in the spindle member. The coupler couples the spindle member and the brake shaft.

LOW TENSION APPLICATION COILER
20240010460 · 2024-01-11 ·

An apparatus, system, and method for a low tension application spooler and or coiler system that positively drives the material into the coil and or reel so that the tension is minimum during the winding process.

MOTORIZED TENSIONING SYSTEM WITH SENSORS

A tensioning system for articles of footwear and articles of apparel is disclosed. The tensioning system includes a tensioning member that is tightened or loosened using a motorized tensioning device for winding and unwinding the tensioning member on a spool. The tensioning system may be used with various sensors to determine how the motorized tensioning device should be controlled.

Method for lacing a shoe, particularly a sports shoe
10758011 · 2020-09-01 · ·

A method is disclosed for lacing a shoe that includes an upper on which a rotating closure is arranged for lacing the shoe by means of at least one tensioning element. The method includes lacing the shoe with a first level of lacing power, resulting in a first tension of the at least one tensioning element, when the user of the shoe generates a first closing signal (S1) by means of the closing button, or alternatively lacing the shoe with a second level of lacing power, resulting in a second tension of the at least one tensioning element, which is higher than the first tension, when the user of the shoe generates a second closing signal (S2) by means of the closing button, which is different from the first closing signal.

BOX LACING CHANNEL FOR AUTOMATED FOOTWEAR PLATFORM
