Filament count reduction for carbon fiber tow
A process and apparatus for separating a carbon filament tow into a set of reduced filament count bundles. The process includes feeding a tow of carbon filaments into a guide array, mechanically splitting the tow within the guide array into filament bundles, removing a coating from the filament bundles, feeding the filament bundles into a guide pin assembly to separate the filament bundles with a reduced filament count from one another, applying a false twist to the filament bundles to loosen individual filaments then recombining the individual filaments of each filament bundle into a re-bundled ribbon. Coatings may be applied to each re-bundled ribbon prior to winding each re-bundled ribbon onto a take-up.
Device for pulling out optical fiber, method for pulling out optical fiber, and method for inspecting optical fiber
A device that pulls out an optical fiber includes: a bobbin support that supports a bobbin rotatably about a rotation axis; a first pulling out unit that holds a first end of the optical fiber, pulls out a first portion of the optical fiber wound around the bobbin from a side of the first end in a state where the bobbin rotates in a predetermined direction, and returns a part of the first portion to the bobbin in a state where the bobbin rotates in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction; and a second pulling out unit that holds a second end of the optical fiber after the first pulling out unit pulls out the first portion from the side of the first end, and pulls out a second portion of the optical fiber wound around the bobbin from a side of the second end.
Control method, electronic device and storage medium
Provided is a control method, an electronic device and a storage medium. The method comprises: when determining that a yarn spindle transported on a transport channel enters a detection area, detecting the yarn spindle located in the detection area to obtain an appearance feature of the detected yarn spindle; wherein the transport channel is a channel for transporting yarn spindles in an automatic packaging workshop; and the detection area is at least a partial area on the transport channel; when the appearance feature of the detected yarn spindle does not meet a first preset requirement, determining the yarn spindle with the appearance feature not meeting the first preset requirement as a target yarn spindle; and detecting a physical attribute feature of the target yarn spindle.
Automated yarn package handling system and method
An apparatus and method of automatically moving yarn packages between yarn processing stations in a textile environment that includes the steps of providing a yarn package elevator, transporting a yarn package on the yarn package elevator from a textile machine position to a common transfer location, and holding the package in a stationary position on an elevator tray. A label is applied to a surface of the package and the elevator tray and package is moved to a knot-tying location, the package is removed from the elevator tray to a knotting head apparatus at the knot-tying location and a knot is tied in a package yarn tail of the package to secure the package tail from unraveling in subsequent package handling steps. Correct application of the knot to the yarn tail is either validated, or in the alternative, if the knot is not validated, the package is forwarded to a location for manual reworking to apply a correct knot to the yarn tail.
AUTOMATED YARN PACKAGE HANDLING SYSTEM AND METHOD
An apparatus and method of robotically tying a knot that includes the steps of removing the package from the elevator tray to a knotting head apparatus at the knot-tying location where a knot is tied in a yarn tail of the package to secure the package tail from unraveling in subsequent package handling steps. Correct application of the knot to the yarn tail is either validated, or in the alternative, if the knot is not validated, the package is forwarded to a location for manual reworking to apply a correct knot to the yarn tail.
PARAMETER PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS, DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Provided is a parameter processing method, an electronic device and a storage medium. The method includes: determining T full-winding rates of a yarn spindle wound by a winding machine; and under the condition where it is determined that M full-winding rates in the T full-winding rates do not meet a requirement of a preset full-winding rate, determining a candidate characteristic parameter set, wherein a candidate characteristic parameter included in the candidate characteristic parameter set is the characteristic parameter that is selected from N first characteristic parameters corresponding to a full-winding rate not meeting the requirement of the preset full-winding rate and that causes the full-winding rate not meeting not to meet the requirement of the preset full-winding rate.
Systems and methods for inspecting wound optical fiber
Systems and methods for inspecting wound optical fiber to detect and characterize defects are disclosed. The method includes illuminating the wound optical fiber with light from a light source and capturing a digital image based on measurement light that is redirected by the wound optical fiber to a digital camera. The method also includes processing the digital image with a computer to detect and characterize the defects. The types of defects that can be detected using the systems and methods disclosed herein include bubbles, abrasions, punctures, scratches, surface contamination, winding errors, periodic dimensional errors, aperiodic dimensional errors and dents.
Device and method for detecting the presence of abnormalities in a reel
A device for detecting the presence of abnormalities in a reel includes an image capturing module for capturing images of the reel including at least one camera, a displacer for displacing the reel in a field of view of the at least one camera, an analyzer for analyzing the images captured by the at least one camera and detecting the presence of abnormalities. The image capturing module including an upper capturer and lower capturer, the upper capturer fixed on a movable support arranged for being movable with respect to lower capturer, the upper capturer and/or the lower capturer including at least one three dimension camera arranged for providing a three dimension image of the reel.
Computer-Implemented Method For Trading Yarn Packages
The computer-implemented method serves for efficiently trading yarn packages. A server computer system receives from a spinning mill having produced a yarn package a set of measured values for yarn-quality parameters measured for yarn on the yarn package and further information on the yarn package. It assigns a package identifier to the set of measured values and to the further information and stores them in a database. The server computer system receives from a client computer purchase request containing yarn specifications. It retrieves from the database sets of yarn packages such that the further information matches the yarn specifications for all packages of each set. It produces a ranking of the sets of yarn packages according to the sets of measured values. It transmits to the client computer information on sets of yarn packages best ranked in the produced ranking.
Systems and methods for manufacturing colored product
A winder for forming a yarn package can have a spindle axis. The winder can comprise a spindle that is configured to be rotatably driven about the spindle axis. A color probe can be positioned with respect to the spindle to measure a color value of yarn wound on the spindle.
