Input handling for media processing devices
A media processing device includes: a hopper for supporting a stack of media units (e.g. cards), the hopper including (i) a gate wall configured to abut leading edges of the media units and (ii) an outlet defined at an end of the gate wall; a pick roller at the outlet for engaging an outer one of the media units in the stack and dispensing the outer media unit from the hopper to a media processing path; the gate wall including a flexible gate at the outlet, the flexible gate configured to deflect toward the media processing path responsive to the outer media unit being driven into the flexible gate by the pick roller, wherein the outer media unit deflects when passing by the flexible gate, permitting the outer media unit to be dispensed from the hopper.
Image forming apparatus provided with transmission mechanism for transmitting drive force to reconveying roller
An image forming apparatus includes: a reconveying unit including a reconveying roller; and a second transmission mechanism. The second transmission mechanism transmits a drive force to the reconveying roller and includes: an input gear; an output gear; an intermediate gear including first and second gears; and first and second swinging gears. The first toothless part of the first gear and the second toothless part of the second gear are provided at such a position that, when the intermediate gear is rotated by a drive force transmitted from the input gear through the second swinging gear while the second swinging gear meshes with the second toothed part of the second gear and the output gear meshes with the first toothed part of the first gear, the first toothless part reaches a position confronting the output gear and then the second toothless part reaches a position confronting the second swinging gear.
MEDIUM BUNDLE STORAGE DEVICE AND MEDIUM PROCESSING DEVICE
A reject storage box is provided with a sufficiently thick cover body above a second storage space that stores banknote bundles W that a user has forgotten to take, and a guide space is provided penetrating the cover body in an oblique direction. In the reject storage box, when a banknote bundle falls into an intake hole from above, a lower face of the banknote bundle immediately contacts a position toward the top of a main guide face, and the banknote bundle W travels downward through the guide space with the lower face of the banknote bundle W sliding against the main guide face. The reject storage box thereby enables the banknote bundle dropping downward through the guide space to be maintained in a substantially uniform orientation, and ultimately enables the banknote bundle to be stacked neatly inside the second storage space.
Sheet feeder, image forming apparatus, and image forming system
A sheet feeder includes a first rotary member, a separation member that cooperates with the first rotary member in holding the sheet between the separation member and the first rotary member to define a separation nip, a conveyance unit disposed downstream of the separation nip in a conveyance direction of the sheet, a driving unit, and a control unit. The first rotary member feeds a sheet. The conveyance unit conveys the sheet. The driving unit drives the first rotary member. The control unit controls the driving unit to stop driving the first rotary member when a leading edge of the sheet reaches the conveyance unit, and controls the driving unit to restart driving the first rotary member when a trailing edge portion of the sheet comes out of the separation nip.
Transmission device of automatic document feeder
A transmission device of automatic document feeder includes a pickup roller assembly, a paper-feed roller assembly, a paper-out roller assembly, a pickup gear assembly for driving the pickup roller assembly, a first transmission gear assembly, a second transmission gear assembly, a drive gear assembly and a motor. The paper-feed roller assembly includes a paper-feed shaft. The paper-out roller assembly includes a paper-out shaft. The first transmission gear assembly includes a first one-way gear and a second one-way gear. The motor bidirectionally drives the drive gear assembly. The motor drives the drive gear assembly to drive the first one-way gear together with the second transmission gear assembly or the second one-way gear together with the second transmission gear assembly to drive the paper-out shaft and the paper-feed shaft to unidirectionally rotate towards the same direction.
Image recording apparatus
An image recording apparatus, including a tray configured to support a sheet; a chassis defining a first conveyer path, in which the sheet on the tray is conveyed in a first conveying direction, and a second conveyer path, through which the sheet is conveyed in a second conveying direction through a branch point to be inverted to reenter the first conveyer path through a merging point; a base member integrally formed of resin and including a guiding section to define a form of a part of the second conveyer path; a recording unit to record an image on the sheet conveyed in the first conveyer path; a drive shaft supported by the base member; and a return-conveyer roller disposed in the second conveyer path and configured to convey the sheet to be guided on the guiding section in the second conveying direction by rotation of the drive shaft, is provided.
Media conveyance device, printer, and control method of a printer
A printer takes up slack in media while suppressing excessive rewinding, and can check the movement of a movable member that moves following change in tension on the media. The printer drives the supply motor in a first operating mode in a slack removal operation that rewinds the recording paper (media) onto a paper roll 2, and stops driving the supply motor when the tension lever (movable member) moves from a slack-side first position toward a second position. In the movement checking operation, the supply motor is driven in a second operating mode with greater output than the first operating mode, rewinds the recording paper on the paper roll, and sets the tension lever to the second position.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WINDING STRAPS
An apparatus for winding straps comprises a motor having a shaft extending therefrom to a distal end, the shaft being rotatable thereby along a shaft axis and having a slot extending longitudinally therealong from the distal end. The apparatus further comprises a spool guide located proximate to the distal end of the shaft adapted to retain a strap on the shaft and a strap guide extending parallel to and spaced apart from the shaft axis.
