A sheet safekeeping apparatus comprises a multistage tray in which a plurality of housing sections for accommodating sheets is arranged in a first direction, a removal port through which the accommodated sheet is taken out being formed in each of the plurality of the housing sections, and a cover configured for to close the removal port in an openable manner being provided in each of the plurality of the housing sections; a support section configured to support the multistage tray; a tray displacement unit configured to displace the multistage tray in the first direction with the support section; a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet to the plurality of the housing sections; and a cover displacement unit configured to displace the cover of one housing section determined by an operation of the tray displacement unit among the plurality of the housing sections to open the removal port.

According to one embodiment, a post-processing apparatus includes a first sensor, a second sensor, and a control unit. The first sensor detects an object in a predetermined area in which a predetermined post-process is performed on a sheet conveyed from an image forming apparatus. The second sensor detects an object at a position closer to an opening in the area than the position of the first sensor with respect to the opening through which the sheet passes when the post-processed sheet is discharged from the area. When the second sensor detects an object before the first sensor detects the object, the control unit performs a predetermined process for preventing the occurrence of a failure.

A post-processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes a processing tray, a post-processing section, a sensor, and a control section. A sheet supplied from an image forming apparatus is led into the processing tray through a lead-in path. The post-processing section applies post-processing to the sheet sent from the processing tray. The sensor detects an object passing a detection space in the lead-in path. The control section controls operation of the post-processing section based on a time in which the sensor detects the object.

The sheet processing device includes a processing tray, a processing device, a discharge port, a discharge rollers pair, a supporting arm and an interlock mechanism. The discharge rollers pair has a lower roller and an upper roller. The supporting arm supports the upper roller and is turnable between a first position where the upper roller comes into contact with the sheet and a second position where the upper roller separates upwardly from the sheet. The interlock mechanism includes an actuator, a switch and a switch moving mechanism. The actuator is turned with an upwardly turning of the supporting arm. The switch moving mechanism moves the switch to a switch non-detective position when the processing is not performed and moves the switch to a switch detective position when the processing is performed.

A stacker device includes: a discharger that discharges sheets in response to a print job; a first tray on which the discharged sheets are stacked; a second tray that serves as a delivery destination of the sheets stacked on the first tray; a shutter that covers an opening on a front side of a housing; a driver that moves the first tray in an up-down direction; and a hardware processor that shuts off power to the driver based on a height position of the shutter and a position of the second tray in a front-rear direction.
