An image forming apparatus includes: a housing; an image forming unit; a conveyor; a curved guide disposed downstream of the conveyor and configured to move between a near position where the curved guide in the housing guides the sheet and a far position farther from the conveyor than the near position; and a guide member extending from the conveyor toward the curved guide and configured to guide the sheet to the curved guide when the curved guide is located at the near position. The guide member has one end portion coupled to the conveyor and the other end portion movable with respect to the curved guide. When the curved guide is moved from the near position to the far position, the other end portion is moved in a direction from a downstream end toward an upstream end of the curved guide.

A sheet feeding device includes: a main assembly; a holding unit detachably mountable to the main assembly; a portion-to-be-engaged provided on the main assembly; a rotatable member, provided in the holding unit, for feeding a sheet; and a guiding member for guiding feeding of the sheet. The guiding member is provided in the holding unit and includes an engaging portion engageable with the portion-to-be-engaged. The guiding member is movable between an engaging position where the portion-to-be-engaged and the engaging portion are engaged with each other to guide the sheet and a guiding position where the portion-to-be-engaged and the engaging portion are disengaged from each other to guide demounting and mounting of the holding unit.

A sheet stacking apparatus includes a sheet stacking portion to be mounted into and drawn out of a mounting portion and provided with a side plate including a grip portion by which the sheet stacking portion can be drawn out in the draw-out direction. The sheet stacking portion is supported to be slidable in a draw-out direction by a rail, and the rail is supported to be slidable in the draw-out direction by a rail supporting portion provided in the mounting portion. A rotator is provided on either the rail supporting portion or the rail and disposed in contact with the other of the rail supporting portion and the rail. The rail, the rail supporting portion and the rotator are disposed on one side in the width direction of the sheet stacking portion, and the grip portion is disposed on the other side in the width direction.

Provided is a double-channel paper feeding mechanism and a sheet medium processing device. The double-channel paper feeding mechanism includes a fixed frame, a movable frame and a connection mechanism. The fixed frame is provided with a first channel plate and a second channel plate. A first portion of the first channel plate and a first portion of the second channel plate form a conveying channel. An opening for inserting the movable frame is formed between second portions of the two channel plates. The movable frame is provided with a third channel plate and a fourth channel plate. When the movable frame is mounted on the fixed frame, the second portion of the first channel plate and the third channel plate are arranged oppositely and form a first input channel in connection with the conveying channel, the second portion of the second channel plate and the fourth channel plate form a second input channel in connection with the conveying channel.

An image forming apparatus of embodiments includes an accommodation unit and a notification unit. The accommodation unit accommodates both of a paper bundle and a packaging member therein in a state in which at least one of the paper bundle and the packaging member used to package the paper bundle satisfies predetermined conditions. The notification unit performs a notification of guidance on the predetermined conditions.

A sheet feeder includes: a cassette main body; a side cursor; and a restriction part. The cassette main body houses a sheet to be fed in a predetermined sheet feeding direction. The side cursor is installed onto the cassette main body to be slidable in a sheet width direction perpendicular to the sheet feeding direction, and positions the sheet in the cassette main body. The restriction part increases sliding load of the side cursor with respect to the cassette main body when the side cursor slides and passes a standard size point that is a stopping position on the cassette main body when a sheet of a standard size is positioned.

A sheet feed device comprises a main body section, a support section, a first link, a second link, an engagement mechanism, an energization section and a correcting section. The correcting section is movable in an approaching position at which the support section approaches the main body section against energization force of the energization section while being contactable with the second link in a direction in which the first link moves to a downstream side in the conveyance direction, and is movable in a separation position at which the support section is separated from the main body section while being separable from the second link in a direction in which the first link moves to an upstream side in the conveyance direction.

A dual nip release mechanism includes: a rigid actuator body including a tail portion with a handle and a pivotally-mounted head portion having a nose member extending therefrom; a rocker arm pivotally mounted about a rocker arm shaft, the rocker arm having a proximal end for engagement with part of the nose member and a distal end engaged with a first shaft; and legs hingedly connected to the tail portion, each leg having a foot engaged with a second shaft and a heel for camming engagement with a fixed plate. During use, actuation of the handle causes simultaneous movement of the first and second shafts from a nip closed position to a nip open position via pivoting of the rocker arm and simultaneous camming engagement of the heel with the fixed plate.
