System and method for providing a pediatric crown
A system and method and system for providing preoperative patient intraoral scanning for diagnosis and preparation of a treatment plan utilizing the proposed system in advance of the crown surgery and intraoperative patient intraoral scanning for system assessment and verification for the method of treatment. More specifically, the proposed invention proposes a method and system of patient intraoral scanning to identify the best prefabricated crown for use for the patient and develop a plan for intraoral surface treatment for the identified prefabricated crown and automated crown inventory management.
Method for monitoring dentition
A method for optimizing initial discriminating information extracted from a two-dimensional image of the patient dental arches, referred to as acquired image, by a three-dimensional digital reference model of at least one portion of a patient arch, the method including the steps: C1. assessing quality of the initial discriminating information and quality threshold, filtering to keep only the initial discriminating information that has quality higher than the quality threshold, and defining the discriminating information to be tested as the initial discriminating information selected; C2. testing consistency between the discriminating information to be tested and reference model; C3. assessing test result and, in accordance with the assessment: adding discriminating information that was not kept to the discriminating information to be tested and/or deleting discriminating information from the discriminating information to be tested, and then returning to step C2. or; defining the optimal discriminating information as the discriminating information to be tested.
WOLLASTONITE CRYSTALLIZED GLASS FOR ARTIFICIAL TOOTH AND METHOD FOR COLORING SAME
Disclosed are a wollastonite crystallized glass for an artificial tooth and a method for coloring same, the method enabling a production of a uniform shade without degrading the physical properties of a crystallized glass by means of simply adding a small amount of coloring additive powder when preparing the crystallized glass.
Dental bleaching gels and methods for making and using them
The addition of the Iodide ion by way of Potassium Iodide to a peroxide such as Hydrogen Peroxide in a basic medium yields Free Radical Oxygen and water; generating large amounts of heat and depleting the Hydrogen Peroxide in a matter of minutes. The Free Radical Oxygen generated in this reaction can be utilized to oxidize organic molecules that produce offending stains on select items, including teeth. Once the Free Radical Oxygen has oxidized the offending molecule the color is lost and the solubility changes allowing the colorless oxidized fragments of the offending molecule to be washed away in the solvent. The Iodide ion catalyzes the reaction allowing for precise control over the speed at which the stain is removed without the need for other expensive, cumbersome energy adding equipment such as lights, lasers, heat sources, etc.
METHOD FOR MONITORING AN ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
A method including an acquisition, with an acquisition apparatus, of at least one two-dimensional mage of arches of a patient, called updated image, in actual acquisition conditions, a separator separating lips of the patient in order to improve the visibility of patient's teeth, said separator including a register mark, wherein the representation of the register mark on the updated image is used to recut the updated image and/or to roughly assess the actual acquisition conditions and/or to guide the positioning of the acquisition apparatus at the moment of the acquisition of the updated image and/or to identify a dental situation and/or an action to be achieved by the acquisition apparatus.
Method of making a dental restoration by matching tooth color structure from an image of a tooth with block color structure of a restorative material
A method of making a dental restoration has the steps of capturing an image of a tooth, posterizing the image, determining a tooth color structure, providing information about a multicolored block having a block color structure, matching the tooth color structure and the block color structure, based on the matching, determining a position within the block in which the tooth color structure and the block color structure match, and machining the dental restoration from the block at the determined position. The invention helps facilitating the making of dental restorations at maximized aesthetics.
Comparison of color images of three-dimensional dental structures
The present invention relates to a method for comparing three-dimensional dental structures, comprising the steps of acquiring (S101) a target data set representing the shape and optical properties of a natural tooth; rendering (S102) a digital tooth model (200) to generate an actual data set representing the shape and optical properties of the digital tooth model; determining (S104) a first comparison value from the actual data set; determining (S105) a second comparison value from the target data set; and determining (S106) a deviation based on the first and second comparison values.

Method for monitoring an orthodontic treatment
A method for monitoring the patient's teeth positioning, including the following steps: a) less than three months after the start of an orthodontic treatment, producing an initial reference model of the patient's arches, and, for each tooth, defining, from initial reference model, a tooth model; b) acquiring at least one updated image of the arches, under actual acquisition conditions; c) analyzing each updated image and producing an updated map relative to a piece of discriminating information; d) optionally determining rough virtual acquisition conditions that approximate the actual acquisition conditions; e) searching each updated image for a final reference model corresponding to the teeth's position during the updated image's acquisition, and; f) for each tooth model, comparing the tooth model's positions in the initial reference model and in reference model obtained at the end of the preceding steps, in order to determine movement of the teeth between steps a) and b).
System and Method for Measuring Color or Shade of an Object
A color or shade assessment system and a method of assessing color or shade of an object. The system may include a color or shade measurement device having a probe portion terminating at a distal end, a light emitter assembly, and a light receiver assembly. Furthermore, a spacer including a sleeve extending from a proximal end to a distal end and defining a passageway may be coupled to the probe portion. The spacer may be alterable between (1) a first state in which the spacer is detached from the probe portion; and (2) a second state in which at least a portion of the probe portion extends into the central passageway of the sleeve and the distal end of the probe portion is located between the proximal and distal ends of the sleeve.
