Temporary tooth repair/treatment composition and methods of use thereof
A method that includes the step of using a person's fingers to push a dental composition into engagement with a damaged tooth surface of a damaged tooth thereby adhering the dental composition to the damaged tooth surface and covering at least a portion of the damaged tooth surface. The dental composition includes a base material comprising at least one of the following compounds chosen from the group consisting of: a product consisting of one or more hydrocarbon-based waxes that may also include inorganic fillers and/or organic fillers; an uncured, uncrosslinked silicone high consistency rubber base; and a hydrophobic water insoluble solid material. The base material has a coating composition on one or more surface of the base material wherein the coating composition comprises: one or more desensitization ingredient and at least one dry, powdered hydrophilic polymeric substance.
Method Of Producing A Multicolor Glass-Ceramic Blank For Dental Purposes, Multicolor Glass-Ceramic Blank, And Use Thereof
A method of producing a multicolor glass-ceramic blank (10) for dental purposes. A glass-ceramic blank (10) is produced from at least a first material powder (18) and a second material powder (20), wherein the first material powder (18) and the second material powder (20) are different-colored and wherein at least one of first material powder (18) and second material powder (20) has nanoparticles (14) and/or glass-ceramic particles (16). The first material powder (18) and the second material powder (20) are introduced into a mold (22) in order to form at least one powder mixture aggregate (26). Additionally, the powder mixture aggregate (26) is compressed by hot pressing in order to form the glass-ceramic blank (10). A multicolor glass-ceramic blank (10) is obtainable by such a method and the multicolor glass-ceramic blank (10) is used as dental material.
Dental appliance having particulate laser marking
Dental appliances, materials, and methods of forming such appliances and materials for improved laser marking are provided herein including the use of a particulate material for enhancing laser marking.
Fixation pin
A fixation pin for fixing a dental drill template. The fixation pin has a head having a bearing surface that is intended to bear at least partially on the drill template, or a sleeve provided in the drill template. The fixation pin has a rod having a shape of an essentially circular cylinder and extending from the bearing surface at an essentially right angle. The rod is intended to be inserted into the drill template or the sleeve provided in the drill template.
Dental formula information input method, dental formula information input device, and recording medium
A dental formula information input method and a dental formula information input device for automatically inputting dental formula information about teeth are disclosed. The dental formula information input method creates a library from dental formula information about teeth universally used for prosthetic work, and then automatically inputs the dental formula information about teeth through one click on the basis of the library, thereby minimizing work steps and enabling an increase in the convenience and usability of a user inputting cases relating to prosthetic work.
Gingival Pocket Measurement Device And Method Of Use
A gingival pocket measurement device for facile and accurate measurement of a depth of a gingival pocket includes a rod, which in turn comprises first and second segments that extend from first and second ends of the rod, respectively. The second segment is tapered between the second end and a junction of the first and second segments so that the second end is circumferentially smaller than the junction. The bands of a plurality of bands are attached to the second segment at 1.0 mm increments from the second end. Each band extends circumferentially around the rod and has a respective color so that the plurality of bands comprises bands of variety of colors. The first end is selectively attachable to an elongate shaft, enabling a user to insert the rod into a gingival pocket to measure its depth by observing a respective band that is not covered by a gum.
LASER MARKING OF DENTAL APPLIANCES
Methods for forming dental appliances with laser marks. The methods may include identifying a target marking area of a dental appliance to receive a laser mark, and identifying a laser access area on a surface of the dental appliance. The methods may also include forming a surface texture to disperse laser energy received at the laser access area to form the laser mark in the target marking area.
Dental Instrument for Measuring a Degree of Tapering of a Side Wall of a Tooth
A dental instrument configured to measure a degree of tapering of a side wall of a tooth is described. The dental instrument may include a handle and a taper measuring component coupled to a distal end of the handle. The taper measuring component includes a first, second, and third elongated member. A bottom surface may be formed at a coupling point of the second and third elongated member, where the second elongated member is configured to be substantially vertical when the bottom surface is placed adjacent to a tooth, and the third elongated member projecting radially from the second elongated member at a predefined angle. The third elongated member is shaped and positioned to rest substantially flush along the at least one side wall of the tooth when a degree of tapering of the tooth is substantially similar to the angle, and may include a measuring component.
Methods and devices for closing a space between teeth
In a method for closing a space between a first tooth and a second tooth, a pair of dental matrices is used. The pair of dental matrices is selected using a matrix selection tool, such as a gauge having a distal end section with color coded sections.
Insert for ultrasonic burr-drill unit
In order to select the ultrasonic wave power and amplitude range that matches an ultrasonic tip (130) for mounting on a surgical handpiece (120), the tip (130) includes a cavity (131) forming a housing for an identifier element (140). The identifier element is made of an elastic material presenting a melting temperature higher than 130 C. enabling it to withstand both vibration and sterilization temperatures. The identifier element (140) presents a color or a pattern corresponding to the ultrasonic wave power and amplitude range appropriate for use with the tip.
