System and method for determining the three-dimensional location and orientation of identification markers
The present invention relates to a tool system comprising a handheld implement having a passive vectorized tracking marker permanently integrated with the implement at a predetermined location on the implement in a predetermined orientation with respect to the implement; and a database comprising geometric information describing the at least one of a rotationally asymmetric shape of the tracking marker and a rotationally asymmetric pattern disposed on the tracking marker. The system may further comprise: a tracker configured for obtaining image information about the tracking marker when the tracking marker is in a field of view of the tracker; and a controller having a processor and memory, the controller in communication with the database and the tracker, the processor programmable for receiving and processing image information from the tracker; accessing the database to retrieve the geometric information; and comparing the image information with the geometric information. The handheld implement may be three-dimensionally tracked by the tracker.
CUSTOMIZED DENTAL VENEERS
Described is a customized removable cosmetic or aesthetic dental veneer that secures onto a row of teeth of a patient. The dental veneer may include a pair of rear portions that secure it onto the row of teeth, each rear portion positioned at a distal end of the veneer and having: buccal, occlusal and lingual sides for one or more rear tooth, and a front portion between the pair of rear portions that covers the buccal and occlusal surfaces of the teeth between the pair of rear portions but is free of a side that covers a majority of the lingual surface of any tooth of the row of teeth between the pair of rear portions. A slot and apertures may also be provided for occlusal portions of the rear teeth. Also described is a veneer without such rear portions, which may be used with an adhesive.
PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS WITH MULTI-SENSOR FUSION
A patient support apparatus includes a plurality of primary sensors adapted to measure different parameters used in the control of the patient support apparatus. One or more suites of secondary sensors are added to the patient support apparatus to provide data about the primary sensors. The secondary sensors may be used to detect errors in the primary sensors, to modify outputs from the primary sensors, and/or to provide usage and/or diagnostic data about the use of the patient support apparatus. The suite(s) of secondary sensors may measure parameters that affect the outputs of one or more of the primary sensors. In some embodiments, the suite(s) of secondary sensors include one or more dormant sensors that are not used on the patient support apparatus until a code modification is received from one or more external sources instructing the control system of the patient support apparatus to begin using the dormant sensor(s).
Dental hand piece and method for manufacturing dental hand piece
A dental hand piece has: a hand piece head provided at the front end section thereof; and a connection section provided at the rear end section thereof, and the dental hand piece is used by connecting the connection section to a dental unit. The dental hand piece is provided with: a plurality of metallic pipes for providing communication between the hand piece head and the connection section; and an elastic resin member mounted so as to cover a portion extending at least from the rear end section of the hand piece head to the front end section of the connection section. The outer peripheries of the metallic pipes are embedded within the elastic resin member so as to be in close contact with the inside thereof.
METHOD FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF A BLANK AND BLANK
The present invention is related to a method for the manufacture of a multilayer blank, having a lowermost layer and a topmost layer, of a ceramic material, where layers of different compositions are introduced layer-by-layer into a mold, compressed and then sintered and where individual layers contain at least one coloring oxide, wherein as a first coloring oxide as the one coloring oxide at least one oxide from the group Co, Mn, Ni, Cr is used, the proportion of which in the lowermost layer containing the first coloring oxide is lower than in the topmost layer containing the first coloring oxide: and at least one oxide from the group Pr, Er, Fe, Ti, V, Bi, Cu, Tb is used as the second coloring oxide, the proportion of which in the lowermost layer containing the second coloring oxide is greater than that in the topmost layer.
Method for the preparation of glasses and glass ceramics with SiO2 as main crystal phase
The invention relates to a method for the preparation of a glass ceramic or a glass, which comprise cerium ions and are suitable in particular for the preparation of dental restorations, the fluorescence properties of which largely correspond to those of natural teeth. The invention also relates to a glass ceramic and a glass which can be obtained using the method according to the invention, the use thereof as dental material and in particular for the preparation of dental restorations, as well as a glass-forming composition which is suitable for use in the method according to the invention.
ZIRCONIA SINTERED BODY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A method for manufacturing a zirconia sintered body includes molding a powder composition that has a yttria content of more than 3% by mole and 5.2% by mole or less and that contains a first zirconia powder having a yttria content of 2% by mole or more and 4% by mole or less and a second zirconia powder having a yttria content of more than 4% by mole and 6% by mole or less to obtain a green body, and sintering the green body to obtain a sintered body.
Endodontic instrument
An endodontic file, for manual or motor driven use by an endodontist, includes a color-coded handle, a shank, and a serrated cutting edge. The cutting edge of the endodontic file is side-cutting with pyramidal teeth and ends in a pointed tip. The endodontic file is used manually inside the root canal in an “up and down” axially aligned motion and these pyramidal teeth will provide a ripping action. A second type of endodontic file has a curved cross section and a sharpened tip. with pyramidal teeth lining the edges of curved blade section. A third type of endodontic file has a flat debriding side which tapers to a point; with a series of adjacent 3-D pyramids emerging from this surface for removing loose material or in urging already loosened material from a root canal.
Removable Decorative Frame for Orthodontic Bracket
An accessory device for an orthodontic bracket for easy, consumer tool-free attachment and detachment to and from a bracket mounted on a tooth, having a decorative frame with three or more substantially straight members arranged at orthogonal angles; a retention frame with at least two substantially straight members substantially parallel to at least two of the decorative frame members; and one or more spacer member extending between the decorative frame and the retention frame; thereby defining at least one substantially rectangular parallelepiped within the decorative frame, retention frame and spacer member for slidably receiving an orthodontic bracket through an opening in the retention frame, wherein the retention frame engages a tooth base of an orthodontic bracket, and wherein the decorative frame provides a decorative coating, color, shape, pattern, surface treatment, or combination thereof.
