Sheet processing device, image forming system, and computer-readable storage medium
A sheet processing device includes a sheet processing unit that is moved to perform sheet processing on a sheet; a sheet-processing moving unit that moves the sheet processing unit; a drive-mode determining unit that determines a drive mode of the sheet-processing moving unit; and a drive control unit that drives the sheet-processing moving unit in accordance with the drive mode. The drive-mode determining unit determines the drive mode such that the sheet processing unit is moved at combination acceleration that is a combination of first acceleration and second acceleration with a shift of time that is determined based on the cycle of the natural vibration that occurs during acceleration of the sheet processing unit.
Detection of process abnormalities in a media processing system
Sheet media jams are detected along a media transport path by one or more vibration sensors that capture mechanical movements of components along the path that interact with the sheet media for driving or guiding the sheet media along the transport path. The detected vibrations during the advancing of the sheets are analyzed for distinguishing between detected vibrations associated with normal handling of the sheets and detected vibrations associated with abnormal handling of the sheets. An error condition can be signaled to a control system in response to distinguishing the detected vibrations associated with the abnormal handling of the sheets.

ULTRASONIC ROLL TAIL CLOSURE OF NON-WOVEN WEB MATERIAL METHOD AND APPARATUS
An apparatus for securing the tail end of a spirally wound roll of nonwoven, polymer-based material to the roll to preclude unintended unwinding of the roll, the apparatus comprising a winding assembly for forming about a winding axis a spirally wound roll with a tail end, a fixture for a roll tacking assembly with an ultrasonic tool oscillating on an oscillating axis, and a fixture for moving the tool into momentary tangential contact with an outermost winding layer of the roll in a manner that orients the oscillating axis orthogonally to the winding axis. The apparatus implements a method of locating the tail end of the spirally wound roll and orienting the tail end in relation to the securing tool.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING THE PERFORMANCE OF A WINDING SPOOL IN THE REEL SECTION OF A PAPER MACHINE
The present invention relates to a system (200) and computer implemented method for monitoring the performance of at least one winding spool (120) in the reel section (100) of a paper machine, by detecting a unique identification code, ID, associated with the winding spool (120) from a marker (130) on the winding spool (120); identifying the winding spool (120) based on the unique identification code, ID; determining at least one winding spool performance parameter for the identified winding spool (120) based on measurements from at least one sensor (160); and determining if there is a failure of the performance of the identified winding spool (120) based on if the determined at least one winding spool performance parameter fulfils a requirement indicative of failure of the performance of the winding spool (120). The invention further includes a computer program comprising software for executing the method, a non-volatile data carrier, and a paper machine comprising the system.
Bill handling apparatus and failure determination method
In a bill handling apparatus 1, a vibration detection sensor 51A to 51H detects a vibration of a field repair unit 3, 4, 6, 7a to 7d, 8, and a determining unit 52 determines whether there is a failure in the field repair unit 3, 4, 6, 7a to 7d, 8 based on the vibration detected by the vibration detection sensor 51A to 51H. For example, the determining unit 52 subjects the vibration detected by the vibration detection sensor 51A to 51H to frequency analysis, and determines that a failure has occurred in the field repair unit 3, 4, 6, 7a to 7d, 8 when a frequency of a frequency component having a maximum amplitude level in an analysis result of the frequency analysis is lower than a reference value.
