MEDIUM CONVEYING APPARATUS TO CORRECT SKEW OF MEDIUM USING SECOND ROLLER WHILE MOVING FIRST ROLLER TO BE SPACED APART FROM MEDIUM
A medium conveying apparatus includes a first roller to convey a medium, a movement mechanism to move the first roller between a first position in contact with the medium and a second position spaced apart from the medium, a second roller located on a downstream side of the first roller in a medium conveying direction to convey the medium, and a processor to detect a skew of the conveyed medium, and control the movement mechanism to move the first roller to the second position, and correct the skew of the medium using the second roller when the skew of the medium is detected.
PACKAGING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SEALED PACKAGES
A packaging machine comprises a conveying device for advancing a web along a web advancement path at least to a tube forming station where the web is formed into a tube and for advancing the tube along a tube advancement path, a tube forming and sealing device configured to form and to longitudinally seal the tube, a tensioning device upstream of the tube forming station and configured to control the tension of the tube and a control unit configured to control packaging machine operation. The tensioning device comprises a main drive roller rotatable around a main rotation axis and a main drive motor configured to actuate rotation of the main drive roller around the main rotation axis. The control unit is configured to control the main drive motor such that angular speed and/or angular acceleration of the main drive roller is cyclically varied to control the tension of the tube.
Cartridges, dispensers, and kits for dispensing instrument covers
A kit for dispensing disposable stethoscope covers and other instrument covers is provided. The kit may include a cartridge and a dispenser for automatic touch-free dispensing of disposable stethoscope covers. The kit further includes a first spool having a roll of backing member with disposable stethoscope covers disposed thereon and a second spool for receiving the spent backing member after a disposable stethoscope cover has been removed, self-contained within the cartridge. The cartridge is inserted within the dispenser so that a user may insert a stethoscope head through a window of the dispenser to attach to a disposable stethoscope cover. Alternatively, the cartridge or cassette may be comprised of disposable instrument covers so that a user may insert the instrument near or through the window of the dispenser for application of the instrument cover directly to the instrument. The kit may further include a proximity sensor for detecting a user.
Device for introducing a pattern by radiation on a wound endless structure
A device for introducing patterns by radiating a wound continuous substrate. The device provides patterning during continuous roll-to-roll movement without material slippage and with minimal distortion by providing a dancer roll between a processing drum and an unwinder roll on one side, and a winder roll on the other side, for tautly guiding the continuous substrate along a contact surface of at least half of the circumference of the processing drum in order to drive the continuous substrate without slippage. The dancer rolls are adapted to tautly guide the advancing substrate web and returning substrate web with a constant force, and an equilibrium is adjustable between a defined counterforce and the constant action of force on the dancer roll by a stabilization device, and is maintained constant by a controller based on measured deflections of the dancer roll by controlling the rotational speed of the unwinder and winder rolls.
WEIGHT MATERIAL CUTTING, DISPENSING AND APPLYING SYSTEMS
A feed and cutting unit for selectively cutting and dispensing individual weight material segments from a common strip of backing material is disclosed. The feed and cutting unit comprises a feed assembly, a sensor and a cutter member. The feed assembly includes a drive roller and a follower roller that frictionally engages first and second surfaces of a strip of weight material to selectively move the strip of weight material to a cutter member. The sensor is connected to a controller and measures an amount of segmented weight material on the backing material as the strip of weight material moves past the sensor. The cutter member is actuated to separate weight material segments from the backing material by cutting at least a portion of the backing material in a gap disposed between adjacent segments. Weight apply devices that receive the segments for application to an imbalanced member, are also disclosed.
COMPONENT SUPPLY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING COMPONENT SUPPLY DEVICE
The component supply device includes a body, a first carrier tape transporter, a second carrier tape transporter, and a controller. The body includes a tape transport path. The first carrier tape transporter transports a carrier tape to a component pickup position. The second carrier tape transporter transports the carrier tape to the first carrier tape transporter. The controller is configured to communicate with the component installation device and control the first carrier tape transporter and the second carrier tape transporter in one operation mode selected from a plurality of operation modes.
Sheet conveying device and sheet conveying method
A sheet conveying device includes a first roller, a second roller, and a controller. The first roller is configured to rotate in a forward direction for sheet conveyance along a sheet conveying direction. The second roller is disposed downstream with respect to the first roller in the sheet conveying direction and configured to rotate in a forward direction along the sheet conveying direction and in a reverse direction. The controller is configured to control the second roller to rotate in the reverse direction at a timing when a leading end of a sheet that is nipped and conveyed by the first roller reaches a nip of the second roller.
Method for producing separator roll
To carry out accurate defect inspection over a wide area, a defect inspection device includes: a radiation source section configured to emit an electromagnetic wave to a separator roll; and a sensor section configured to detect the electromagnetic wave that the radiation source section has emitted to the separator roll, the sensor section being configured to detect the electromagnetic wave before and after the separator roll is moved relative to the radiation source section.
PRINT MEDIA THRESHOLDS
In some examples, a non-transitory machine readable medium can include instructions executable by a processing resource to assert a low print media level notification responsive to determination that a first amount of print media in a media receptacle of an imaging device is less than a set value, detect a second amount of print media in the media receptacle of the imaging device, compare the detected second amount of print media to a print media threshold that is based on the set value and a selectable print media value, and maintain the low print media level notification responsive to a determination that the detected second amount of print media is less than the print media threshold.
Smart toilet paper dispenser
A smart toilet paper dispenser comprises a powered paper dispenser, an enclosure, a plurality of drawers, and a top surface. The smart toilet paper dispenser receives user input and in response dispenses a predetermined amount of paper. The user input is motion detected by a motion sensor, a voice command detected by a microphone, or touch detected by a push button. A switch allows a user to select one of multiple paper lengths dispensed by the smart toilet paper dispenser. The top surface comprises a non-slip surface and includes a plurality of ridges and a raised perimeter to prevent items placed thereupon from rolling. The top surface includes a groove large enough to accommodate a user's device. Storage drawers are included, one of which holds trash bags. A novel smart toilet paper dispenser allows easier, touchless operation of the device and removes one touchpoint by which pathogens are transmitted.
