In a second embodiment, a contactor 22 is mounted below the cantilever arm 18 to contact the nose cone 26 when pressed. In a third embodiment, a standard dental office foot pedal 90 is connected to a wireless transmitter 80 for sending a signal to a receiver 92 located within the handpiece 70 for activating the handpiece 70.

Disclosed herein are embodiments for a handle for securing a patient's mouth in place while an oral procedure is performed. A handle includes a handle head extending from a handle body, the handle head comprising exterior border bumpers to the sides. An indented portion lies in between the border bumpers, the indented portion having grooves oriented substantially perpendicular to a length of the border bumpers. The indented region is configured to receive a patient's teeth and lock the patient's mouth open by preventing the teeth from sliding off the surface of the handle head. With the patient's mouth securely open, a caregiver may then use a second tool (e.g., a toothbrush, flosser, tongue cleaner, etc.) for cleaning the patient's mouth or performing any other oral procedure.

Wireless teeth whitening system

A wireless teeth whitening system includes a mouthpiece that is devoid of any electrical circuitry so that it may easily be cleaned and sterilized. A control module may be coupled to the mouthpiece. This module has an electrical circuit board with LEDs and heating elements mounted on it. When the control module is coupled to the mouthpiece, the system may be used to whiten teeth. The control module includes a battery that may be inductively charged, and may be wirelessly controlled via Bluetooth from a mobile application.

The rotation of the cam only allows the linkage to repetitively moves in a back-and-forth linear motion. Wear between the plungers and the cylindrical tube is decreased to a minimum and leakage is prevented.
