SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGEMENT AND DISTRIBUTION OF INVISIBLE DENTAL BRACES CONTAINING PRESSURE-SENSITIVE SENSORS
The invention is a system and method for the management and distribution of invisible dental braces containing pressure-sensitive sensors for use in dentistry. The system and method include the steps of: providing an invisible dental brace fixedly secured with at least one pressure-sensitive sensor and a chip, wherein said at least one pressure-sensitive sensor generates a sensor signal related to the wearing conditions; writing additional information, including the name of the orthodontic patient into the chip; applying the invisible dental brace to the teeth of the orthodontic patient; writing further information, including special conditions that occur during applying the invisible dental brace; transmitting of a data, including the sensor signal, additional information, and further information, etc. to a remote device; and processing the data by the remote device for the dentist to modify the prescribed plan of orthodontic treatment in a real-time manner based on the data.

DENTAL APPLIANCE COMPLIANCE MONITORING
The present disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods for monitoring use of an oral appliance in an oral cavity using extra-oral sensor(s). One method includes sensing one or more physical properties of an oral appliance using an extra-oral sensor, providing a compliance signal from the extra-oral sensor, the compliance signal comprising an electronic representation of the one or more physical properties of the oral appliance, identifying one or more patient compliance factors based on the compliance signal, the one or more patient compliance factors providing a basis to identify an extent of compliance of usage of the oral appliance with an orthodontic treatment plan, and providing one or more compliance indicators based on the one or more patient compliance factors, the one or more compliance indicators providing a basis to indicate the extent of compliance.

One method includes sensing one or more physical properties of an oral appliance using an extra-oral sensor, providing a compliance signal from the extra-oral sensor, identifying one or more patient compliance factors based on the compliance signal, the one or more patient compliance factors providing a basis to identify an extent of compliance of usage of the oral appliance with an orthodontic treatment plan, determining the extent of compliance, and outputting the extent of compliance.
INDICATOR AND DENTAL APPLIANCE HAVING SAME
The present invention discloses an indicator and a dental appliance having the same. The indicator is used for a dental appliance. The indicator includes a first indicator and a second indicator that are stacked, the first indicator includes a first pattern layer, the second indicator includes a second pattern layer, and an active substance in an oral cavity sequentially penetrates through the first indicator and the second indicator and acts on the first pattern layer and the second pattern layer to sequentially present patterns. The indicator and the dental appliance of the present invention can optimize an indication effect and improve wearing compliance.
PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR 1-WIRE HANDPIECE
A predictive maintenance system and method for a dental handpiece includes a condition sensor for sensing a condition of the handpiece to obtain sensor data and providing wired communication of the sensor data and a device identifier from the handpiece to a delivery unit. The system is configured to store sensor data, a device identifier and a time stamp in data logging equipment to obtain a usage history for the handpiece. The system determines a maintenance condition of the handpiece based on the sensor data and/or the usage history of the handpiece. In response to a severity of the maintenance condition, the system provides a preventative maintenance indication of a future failure for the handpiece or stops operation of the handpiece.

WEAR-OUT DETECTION FOR AN ORAL CARE SYSTEM
A wear-out assessment for an oral care system (14) (e.g. an oral cleaning device) is disclosed. A sensor unit (16) of the oral care system is adapted to provide a sensor signal related to a cleaning efficacy of a cleaning function of the oral care system when generated when the oral care system is inside a user's mouth. The sensor unit (16) may be, or may be coupled to, a component which is used during execution of an oral care function of the device, for example a sensor for detecting cleaning progress in the mouth, or a component which drives a cleaning or treatment action in the mouth. In accordance with the invention, the sensor signal (20) generated when the oral care system is outside the mouth is used for performing a wear-out assessment. As relevant components used by the oral care system (14) for the oral care function wear, characteristics of the sensor signal (20) may change in a predictable way, which can be used to identify when a wear-out state has been reached.
