An elevator system includes a motor having a plurality of motor windings; a plurality of braking switches coupled to the motor windings, the braking switches coupling the motor windings to a common electrical point; a sensor coupled to the motor, the sensor providing a sensed signal indicative of a parameter of the motor; and a controller providing a braking signal to the braking switches in response to the sensed signal to selectively control the braking switches to short the motor windings.

PROTECTIVE ROOF WITH AN ADJUSTABLE WIDTH AND DEPTH FOR INSTALLING IN AN ELEVATOR SHAFT

A protective roof device for installation in an elevator shaft includes: a protective roof support that can be installed in the elevator shaft at different longitudinal positions; a protective roof supported by the support for catching falling objects and having at least two protective roof parts at least partly overlapping in an overlap region, the width of which can be modified by moving the roof parts relative to one another in an x-direction; each of the roof parts being foldable along a folding line and arranged such that the folding lines of different roof parts form a common folding line that is parallel to the x-direction; the width of the protective roof being variable in the x direction by modifying the width of the overlap region; and the depth of the protective roof being variable modified in a y direction by folding the protective roof along the common folding line.

Locking apparatus to prevent movement of an elevator car

An elevator and a locking apparatus for preventing rotational movement of the traction sheave of the elevator are provided. The elevator includes at least a hoisting machine provided with a traction sheave, a frame and at least one brake. A holding device is disposed in connection with the hoisting machine, which holding device is arranged to prevent rotational movement of the traction sheave.

REMOVABLE CAR OPERATING PANEL

A car panel for an elevator car, a method for assembling an elevator car, and an elevator system are disclosed. The car panel of the elevator car includes a lower portion, the lower portion attached to a floor of the elevator car and an upper portion, the upper portion attached to a side panel by a hinge. The hinge allows the upper portion to displace, with respect to the lower portion, by rotating the upper portion inwardly about the hinge towards an interior space of the elevator car. Displacement of the upper portion, with respect to the lower portion, from rotating the upper portion inwardly about the hinge provides ingress to a hoistway of the elevator system.

SERVICE ALARM DEVICE FOR AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM
20170113900 · 2017-04-27 ·

A service alarm device for use in an elevator system, the service alarm device including a control board configured to receive at least one safety signal, and an alarming device in communication with the control board, wherein the control board is configured to activate the alarming device based on the at least one safety signal.
