An elevator belt monitoring apparatus includes a housing for receiving an elevator belt and a plurality of screws or pins which are operable to pierce the belt and the spaced parallel cords arranged within the belt. One screw or pin engages each belt. A plurality of bridge contacts are connected with adjacent pairs of screws or pins and signal contacts are connected with the screws or pins adjacent to the outer edges of the belts. The signal contacts are connected with a monitoring device which sends and receives signals to the contacts to provide an indication of the condition or deterioration of the belt.

Elevator arrangement including rope position detector and elevator

An elevator arrangement, comprising at least one rope connected with an elevator car; a rope wheel arrangement comprising at least one rope wheel around which the rope passes turning around an axis, which extends in width direction of the rope; and a rope position detector arranged to detect displacement of the rope over at least one limit position and to trigger one or more predetermined actions in response to detecting displacement of the rope over a limit position. The rope is arranged to pass around a rope wheel turning around an axis, which extends in width direction of the rope, and the rope position detector is arranged to detect displacement of the rope over a limit position in thickness direction of the rope at a detection point, and to trigger one or more predetermined actions in response to detecting displacement of the rope in its thickness direction over the limit position, said limit position being on the opposite side of the rope than said rope wheel.

Elevator rope maintenance method

During a maintenance inspection, an optical rope diameter measuring device is provided at a predetermined position along a path of a wire rope, rope diameter is measured at multiple measuring points while the elevator is driven in test mode, and diameter reduction at each measuring point is determined and stored as a first diameter reduction (S2_S6). During a subsequent maintenance inspection, rope diameter is similarly measured at each measuring point to determine diameter reduction constituting a second diameter reduction (S7_S11). Based on these two diameter reductions, the time at which diameter reduction will reach a predetermined threshold value is predicted for each measuring point, and the earliest time is displayed as a rope replacement time (S12_S14).

Elevator with a monitoring arrangement for monitoring an integrity of suspension members with separated circuitries

An elevator suspension member arrangement includes a monitoring arrangement monitoring an integrity status of suspension members having electrically conductive cords. The monitoring arrangement includes: a generator generating phase shifted first and second alternating voltages; input and output connectors each establishing electrical contacts to cords in one of the suspension members; a voltage analyzer measuring and analyzing a neutral point voltage resulting from applying the first and second alternating voltages to first and second cords of the one suspension member; a supply circuitry having supply lines electrically interconnecting the generator with the input connectors; and a measurement circuitry including measurement lines electrically interconnecting the analyzer with at least one of the input connectors and the output connectors. The supply and measurement lines are separated from each other whereby disturbing influences of impedances through the supply circuitry is minimized due to voltage measurements being performed through the separate measurement circuitry.

Elevator door roller and track replacement

An elevator door subsystem including a hanger mount, a leveling cam, an engaging member, and a roller assembly, configured such that when the roller assembly is positioned on one side of the elevator door hanger, the hanger mount is positioned within an opening of the elevator door hanger, and the leveling cam is positioned on another side of the elevator door hanger, the engaging member is receivable by the roller assembly after the engaging member is passed through an opening in the leveling cam, an opening in the hanger mount, and the opening in the door hanger.

ELEVATOR TENSION MEMBER MONITOR

An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator tension member monitor includes an optoelectronic detector configured to be situated near the elevator tension member. The optoelectronic detector provides an output corresponding to a profile of the elevator tension member. A processor receives the output from the optoelectronic detector and determines whether there are any anomalies in the profile of the elevator tension member. The processor reports any determined anomaly in the profile of the elevator tension member.

Elevator system including a derailment contact
