LIFT SYSTEM HAVING INDIVIDUALLY DRIVEN CARS AND A CLOSED TRACK

A lift system for moving a car along a track in a guided manner. The lift system having a guide rail system, a car and a drive unit arranged on the car. The guide rail system forms a closed track along which the car can be moved between floors when in operation. The drive unit has a motor, a gear wheel system connected to the motor by a shaft and a guide disk. The guide rail system has a pinion system and guide edges spaced apart from one another, which cooperate with the guide disk. When in operation, the motor drives the gear wheel system and the gear wheel system acts on the pinion system in order to move the car along the track in a guided manner.

An elevator system and/or method executed by an elevator controller for detecting a fault within the elevator system. The elevator controller utilizes the fault to disable a drive control portion of the elevator controller and activate a drive u-stop control portion of the elevator controller. The drive u-stop control portion of the elevator controller generates a signal based on at least one of a speed estimation, a velocity profile, and feedforward information. The elevator controller applies the signal to an inverter connected to the elevator controller to execute the urgent stop of an elevator car of the elevator system.

ELEVATOR SYSTEM

An elevator system has an elevator car that can travel vertically along a vertical track including a stationary vertical guide rail, and that can travel horizontally by a car transfer device. The car transfer device has a horizontal displacement unit with a vertical guide rail piece that guides the elevator car in the horizontal displacement unit, the horizontal displacement unit being movable into a transit position in which the guide rail piece and the stationary vertical guide rail together form a section of the vertical track. The elevator system has a connecting device by which, in the transit position of the horizontal displacement unit, the vertical guide rail piece can be connected to the stationary vertical guide rail, wherein, when connected by the connecting device, the vertical guide rail piece cannot be displaced in the horizontal direction with respect to the stationary vertical guide rail.

The disclosure is related to systems and methods regarding transit and movement of people. The Articulated Funiculator is a continuous and connected system of trains that moves people in mass. The trains lie horizontal at specific floor levels (designated as stations) in tall buildings or underground levels (designated as stations) in mining operations and underground subway stations. The Articulated Funiculator transitions from horizontal alignments at the stations to vertical, slanted or curved alignments between the stations, albeit the passengers remain horizontal in a standing position. The Articulated Funiculator captures the energy from the braking, dynamic braking′ of the trains and stores it. The stored energy is then used to accelerate the Articulated Funiculator. This re-use of energy makes the Articulated Funiculator sustainable.
