Multi-stage biodegradable drug delivery platform
Embodiments of the invention provide multi-stage biodegradable drug delivery platforms and methods for the subcutaneous delivery of therapeutic agents (TA). Embodiments of the platform may be configured to subcutaneously deliver a first dose of a first TA which is absorbed into the body and/or blood stream (BBS) to produce a first therapeutic effect for a first selectable time period (STP), and subsequently after a second STP, deliver a second dose of a second TA which is absorbed into the BBS to produce a second therapeutic effect for a third STP. An embodiment of the platform may comprise a body having a tissue-penetrating end, a primary cavity having a first TA dose and a shell having a secondary cavity having a second TA dose. The first TA dose is released after the first STP and the second TA dose is released after the second STP by biodegradation of the shell.

ONLINE, REAL-TIME MASS VACCINATION AND DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM
A system for mass vaccination includes a plurality of portable electronic injectors, a mobile process manager and a database. Each portable electronic injector includes at least one needle to administer a measured amount of at least one vaccine to a body skin/tissue and an indicator system to provide an indication when either an injection error occurs or when a vaccination indication is required. The mobile process manager is in wireless communication with the plurality of injection devices and controls a mass vaccination. The process manager transmits task data to all injection devices in parallel via WI-FI, receives the vaccination indications from each injector in real time, also receives injection errors and vaccination process data, alerts a vaccination process overseer generally in real-time of the errors and transmits the injection data from each injector via cellular and/or internet transmission to the database.

A blood vessel dissecting device includes: a dissecting device which, when inserted into a living body along a blood vessel, dissects tissue in a direction of alignment of the dissecting device with the blood vessel; and a cutting device which, when inserted into the living body along the blood vessel, cuts tissue surrounding the blood vessel in a direction of alignment of the cutting device with the blood vessel. A blood vessel dissecting method includes: inserting a dissecting device into a living body along a blood vessel so as to dissect tissue in a direction of alignment of the dissecting device with the blood vessel; and inserting a cutting device into the living body along the blood vessel while guiding the cutting device with the dissecting device so as to cut tissue surrounding the blood vessel in a direction of alignment of the cutting device with the blood vessel.
Powered injection device for delivering multiple liquid formulations, including vaccines
The invention relates to hand-held, powered injection devices, for administering fluids, including vaccines, to animals. The invention further relates to methods of use of the powered injection device for vaccinating avian animals. Powered injection devices according to the instant disclosure are ergonomically friendly, and offer rapid and consistent dosing, particularly for avian animals.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR A SINGLE SENSOR ACTION PLATE
A vaccination device can be used to vaccinate day-old chicks. To vaccinate the day-old chicks safely while ensuring vaccination efficacy, the vaccination device can include a vaccination needle configured to extend from the vaccination device at a vaccination delivery location and an action plate. The action plate can be coupled to the vaccination device such that the action plate is positioned next to the vaccination delivery location. The action plate can include an action button, wherein the action button is configured to receive a day-old chick presented to the action plate in a predetermined loading position, receive a press of the action button, and in response to pressing the action button, cause the vaccination needle to extend from the vaccination device at the vaccination delivery location to deliver a subcutaneous injection to the day-old chick.
