20220315383 · 2022-10-06 ·

A testing method for an unintended car movement protection device for an elevator, which can shorten the time required for performing the operation test, is disclosed. The testing method includes: moving a car to a position where a floor releveling operation is enabled; making an unintended car movement protection device operate for testing; enabling the floor releveling operation by an elevator control device to control the car by way of a command signal from a control device of the unintended car movement protection device while the control device of the unintended car movement protection device simulatively sets an opened door detection state in which a car door or a landing door is detected to be opened and a power cut-off command signal to be outputted to an electric motor to drive the car; performing the floor releveling operation by way of the elevator control device in such a closed door state that the car door and the landing door are being closed; and making the car in the closed door state move by unbalanced torque in accordance with the power cut-off command signal when the car lands on a releveled floor through the floor releveling operation.

Safety monitoring device for monitoring safety-related states in a passenger conveyor system and method for operating same

A safety monitoring device monitoring safety-related states in a passenger conveyor system has first and second double contact relays each controlled by a control voltage to switch first and second normally open contacts and a feedback contact synchronously between an open and closed relay states. First and second controllers each determine properties of the system correlated with safety-related states and in dependence generate the control voltages. The controllers and two double contact relays form first and second safety monitoring switch arrangements for monitoring first and second safety-related states and correspondingly switch first and second switching states within a safety monitoring chain of the system. The first arrangement includes the first contact of the first connected in series with the first contact of the second relay. The second arrangement includes the second contact of the first relay connected in parallel with the second contact of the second relay.

AVOIDING ENTRAPMENT IN AN ELEVATOR
20230146745 · 2023-05-11 ·

An elevator system includes an elevator car, an elevator controller, and a safety controller, connected to a plurality of safety devices arranged to monitor the elevator system. The safety controller is configured to receive a signal in response to a change of state of any of the safety devices, and to determine a condition of the elevator system in response to the change of state of one or more of the safety devices. If the safety controller renders a determination that the elevator system is in a first condition, the safety controller causes an elevator brake to be deployed, preventing movement of the elevator car. If the safety controller renders a determination that the elevator system is in a second condition, the safety controller allows movement of the elevator car for a predetermined duration or until the elevator car has travelled a predetermined distance.

COMPONENT MISALIGNMENT SENSING

A method of monitoring an alignment of a component of a conveyance system including: capturing, using a camera system, a follow-on image of the component of the conveyance system; determining a follow-on location of the component using photogrammetric measurements of the follow-on image; comparing the follow-on location to a baseline location of the component; and determining whether the component has shifted away from the baseline location based on the follow-on location and the baseline location.

Monitoring device for a passenger transport system

A monitoring device for passenger transport systems, which systems are designed as elevators, escalators or moving walkways, includes at least one detecting device used to detect an external actuation of an equipment of the passenger transport system, a control device and at least one energy store for storing electrical energy. The energy store is kept in a charged state. The energy store is put into a discharged state when the detecting device detects the external activation of the equipment.

REDUNDANT SAFETY CIRCUIT

In modern elevators, safety circuits are used for preventing the operation of an elevator having possibly safety related problems. Sometimes the problem is in the safety circuit itself, and the operation could be continued. In a disclosed arrangement, groups of at least two independent safety circuits are used. The operation of the elevator can be continued in the case where one safety circuit in each group indicates that there is a possible problem. Thus, one deficient safety switch in one safety circuit does not prevent the operation.

METHOD FOR OPERATING AN ELECTRONIC SAFETY SYSTEM WITH TEMPORARY PARTICIPANTS
20170355559 · 2017-12-14 ·

A method for operating a safety system having a control unit, a bus, a plurality of bus nodes connected to the control unit via the bus, and a plurality of participants connected to the control unit via the bus nodes, wherein at least one participant is designated as a temporary participant. The method includes the step of logging the temporary participant out of the safety system by giving notice of a disconnection of the temporary participant from the safety system by a manipulation and disconnecting the temporary participant from the safety system. The safety system can be used with an elevator system for carrying out the method.
