Modular sheave unit
Disclosed is a modular sheave unit including: a bearing that includes an outer race, an inner race and one or more rolling elements therebetween; and a sleeve that includes one or both of: an outer sleeve axially surrounding the outer race, the outer sleeve including an outer surface defining a groove, the groove configured to receive a belt; and an inner sleeve axially surrounded by the inner race and disposed between the inner race and a mandrel.
Machine-room-less elevator
In a machine-room-less elevator, a hoisting machine is disposed directly above a counterweight. A counterweight speed governor is disposed higher than a position of the counterweight if a car descends to a floor portion of a hoistway and the counterweight jumps upward. When viewed from directly above, at least a portion of the counterweight speed governor is disposed at an identical position to a first counterweight guide rail in a width direction of the counterweight, and is disposed at an identical position to a portion of a suspending body between a driving sheave and a counterweight suspending sheave in a direction that is perpendicular to the width direction of the counterweight.

Rope, elevator arrangement and elevator
The invention relates to a belt-shaped rope of an elevator having opposite lateral sides facing in thickness direction of the rope, at least one of the lateral sides being shaped to have elongated wedge-shaped ribs that are disposed adjacent each other in width direction of the rope and extend parallel with the longitudinal direction of the rope, each said wedge-shaped rib having a first flank face and a second flank face that are at an acute angle relative to each other, and the surface material of said flank faces has shore A hardness more than 85 and less than 100. The invention also relates to an elevator arrangement as well as to an elevator, implementing the aforementioned belt-shaped rope.

Coated sheave
A method for applying a coating to a substrate includes obtaining a fluorinated polymer compound, where the fluorine is chemically or covalently bonded to the polymer molecule; and coating the surface of the substrate with the fluorinated polymer compound.

SHEAVE FOR ELEVATOR SYSTEM
A belted elevator system (10) includes a hoistway (14) and an elevator car (12) suspended in the hoistway (14) via a suspension member (16) and drivable along the hoistway (14). The suspension member (16) is routed over a plurality of sheaves (18). A sheave (18) of the plurality of sheaves includes a shaft (36) defining a central axis of the sheave (18), the sheave (18) rotatable about the central axis. A sheave outer member (38) is operably connected to the shaft (36) and rotatable about the central axis. The sheave outer member (38) includes a sheave outer surface (44) interactive with the suspension member (16). The sheave outer member (38) is formed from a molded plastic material.

Elevator sheave wear detection
An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator sheave wear monitoring device includes at least one detector situated to detect a position of elevator roping that is indicative of a condition of a sheave that the roping at least partially wraps around, the at least one detector providing an output corresponding to the detected position of the elevator roping and indicating an amount of wear of the sheave that exceeds at least one threshold.
