ELEVATOR SHEAVE WEAR DETECTION
An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator sheave wear monitoring device includes at least one detector situated to detect a position of elevator roping that is indicative of a condition of a sheave that the roping at least partially wraps around, the at least one detector providing an output corresponding to the detected position of the elevator roping and indicating an amount of wear of the sheave that exceeds at least one threshold.
Elevator installation having a supporting means, around which an electrically conductive housing partially extends, in particular at a deflecting roller arrangement
An elevator installation wherein damage to a support for an elevator car and a counterweight, in particular damage to a sheath of the support, advantageously can be detected. At the elevator installation, a housing at least partially extending around the support, for example at a deflecting roller arrangement. A surface of the housing facing the support is electrically conductive and is electrically grounded. If the support or a wire coming out of the damaged support comes in contact with the housing, an electrical ground fault results. The ground fault can be detected by a security monitoring unit by monitoring a current flowing through the wires of the support, and the damage to the support can thus be inferred.

ROPE WHEEL, TRACTION WHEEL, ELEVATOR DRIVE MACHINERY AND ELEVATOR
The invention relates to a traction wheel for an elevator for driving plurality of belts, comprising a central axis; plurality of circular rim surfaces side by side in axial direction against each of which a belt can be placed to pass; and circular guide flanges on axial sides of each rim surface for guiding a belt placed to pass against the rim surface. Each of said guide flanges comprises a circular array of guide parts, plurality of which guide parts comprises a guide surface portion for guiding a belt, which guide surface portion is movable towards the central axis. The invention also relates to a drive machinery and an elevator implementing the traction wheel.

Belt roller for an elevator system
In an elevator system, a belt-type carrier is guided over a pulley. In this case, longitudinal elevations of the belt-type carrier engage into longitudinal recesses on a roller contact surface. The roller has at least one retaining element, which is arranged laterally to the contact surface. In this case, a distance between an outermost longitudinal recess and the retaining element is less than half a longitudinal recess width of the roller contact surface.

ARRANGEMENT FOR DETECTING BEARING FAILURES IN ELEVATOR
An arrangement for detecting bearing failures in an elevator system, which elevator system includes a hoisting machinery with a traction sheave on a rotary shaft, an elevator car, a counterweight and a hoisting element connected between the car and the counterweight and arranged to be moved by the a rotation of the traction sheave, and which arrangement includes at least a motion sensor for measuring rotation of the hoisting motor. The arrangement includes a signal processing unit connected to the motion sensor and arranged to process vibration signals originated in the bearings of the elevator system.
Frameless elevator counterweight
An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator counterweight includes a frameless stack of a plurality of weights that are connected to maintain a vertical and horizontal alignment of the weights. A plurality of guides are directly supported on at least some of the weights. The plurality of guides are configured to guide movement of the counterweight along elevator guide rails.
