Escalator handrail washing device
An escalator handrail washing device according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a case that accommodates an escalator handrail and a washing unit; a self-generation unit, arranged in the case, for converting kinetic energy of the escalator handrail into electric energy; and a communication unit for transferring information on an operating state of the escalator handrail to a control center. The washing unit includes a plurality of rollers. At least one roller is rotated without power, by frictional force generated by contacting a surface of the escalator handrail, in a first direction which is a reverse direction of a preset rotating direction of the escalator handrail. Other rollers are rotated by rotational force of the at least one roller. The other rollers can sterilize or wash the escalator handrail while rotating.

Handrail friction checking device
A handrail friction checking device comprises a handrail gripper for gripping the handrail and movable together with the handrail, a spring with one end of the spring being fixed and the other end being connected to the handrail gripper so that the spring can apply a spring force which is opposed to the direction of handrail movement to the handrail gripper when the handrail gripper moves along with the handrail and a sensor which is disposed in a way that it is distanced from the handrail gripper and can be triggered by the handrail gripper when the handrail gripper moves along with the handrail.

Systems and methods for handrail cleaning
A system, apparatus, and methods are configured for cleaning and conditioning handrails. A cleaning pad is curved to approximate the shape of a handrail, and is disposed on an arm. The arm may be mounted on a support structure, allowing it to be rolled up to an escalator handrail and left to do the cleaning while the escalator runs. When mounted, the arm may include a spring or piston to keep the arm in a particular position. A second cleaning pad may be included to dry or polish the handrail, the handrail going first through the cleaning pad and second through the drying pad. The arm may be hand-held, allowing a user to reach up or down steps or an incline. The cleaning pad may be mounted such that it rotates about the arm for storage, maintenance or better reach, such as around bends or corners.

Sterilizing floor array
Various devices for sterilizing a surface and an object in contact with the surface are disclosed. For example, a first device includes an ultraviolet light source, a touch sensor, a processing system, and a computer-readable medium. The computer-readable medium stores instructions which, when executed by the processing system, cause the processing system to perform operations that include detecting, via the touch sensor, a tactile state of the device, detecting a tactile state of at least one additional device, determining, based upon the tactile states, that the device is on an edge of a pattern of contact between an object and a surface comprising the device and the at least one additional device, and implementing an action associated with the ultraviolet light source in response to determining that the device is on the edge of the pattern of contact.
