An animal restraint for dogs that maintains four points of contact to safely, securely, and humanely restrain the dog. The system includes a platform and four poles that can support the animal. The forward poles support a cross shoulder bar which prevents the dog's forward from rising. A belly strap or bar may be used under the belly of the animal to prevent the rear or bending of hind legs. An optional over strap may be used to loop around the animal's rear. The animal's leash may be mounted to the device, preferably at the top and center of the shoulder bar. The device may be adjustable in height and rotation of the poles. The system may be collapsible to allow for storage.

Head gate for a cattle containment chute

An animal head gate includes head gate doors each having a squeeze bar to trap the neck mounted between upper and lower rails. Adjustment of the spacing between the bars uses an eccentric crank operated by lever which cooperates with two manual latches on a rail at maximum and minimum spacing. A neck sweep bar is mounted on one gate and movable from a retracted position to a position forward of the squeeze bar across the head gate so as to engage the neck of the animal in front of the squeeze bar and to turn the neck and head. The head gate is held closed by front and rear abutment members each of which is formed as a roller which rotates to reduce friction under load. Each gate includes an upstanding torsion bar which twists when forces are applied to the squeeze bars from impact with the animal.

Stress-Relieving Animal Treatment and Handling Device

An animal treatment and handling device and method includes a fabric bag sized and shaped to receive the animal's torso and legs therein, with dorsal and ventral surfaces extending longitudinally from an anterior to a posterior end. The bag includes an adjustable collar at the anterior end, and a first zipper extending along the dorsal surface from an anterior end portion to a posterior end portion. An integral, elongated outer wrap extends transversely with a length sufficient to be wrapped around the bag and the animal therein to impart a uniform, calming pressure to the animal's thorax. A plurality of alternately openable and closable doors provide physician access to the animal through the bag and through the outer wrap.

Adaptable Livestock Head Holder with Lower Scoop Extensions and Upper Stabilizer
20220248632 · 2022-08-11 ·

A livestock head holder with movably supported top and bottom holding members movable by an operating mechanism into a closed state bracing against the topside and underside of an animal's head, neck or jaw region. Selectively attachable scoop extensions for the bottom head holder enable selective enlargement of a neck scoop thereof for more effective performance on larger animals of greater size at said body region. A selectively attachable/removable stabilizer on the top holding member is of increased breadth relative to a main elongated bar of the top holding member to increase the area of surface contact at the topside of said body region. This spreads the holding force over a greater area and reduces pressure concentration on the animal's body to provide increased comfort and a calming effect.

Awake-Animal Imaging Restrainer System for Animal Models of Brain Diseases
20210282716 · 2021-09-16 ·

A restrainer system for performing awake-animal imaging on a rodent. The system comprises a front section, a first pair of adjustable side pieces for contacting with a snout of the rodent from both sides, a second pair of adjustable side pieces for contacting with a rear jaw of the rodent from both sides, a front section, first floating component for applying pressure to a nose section of the rodent during testing and a mouthpiece for holding the rodent's teeth. That front section connects to a middle section having a floor element upon which to rest a main body of the rodent and all four limbs, a pair of adjustable walls for applying pressure to the rodent's back legs, and a middle section floating component for applying pressure to the rodent's shoulder blades from above. The latter connects to a rear section having a plateau onto which to rest the rodent's tail, and a rear section floating component for securing over the rodent's tail. A method of use is also disclosed.

DEVICE, METHOD, AND SYSTEM FOR RESTRAINING AN ANIMAL IN A FIXED POSITION FOR A MEDICAL PROCEDURE

A restraining device for an animal. A body having a base and two spaced-apart walls define a cavity to receive the animal. At least one pair of side restraining members is mounted to one of the walls of the body. Each restraining member is displaceable away from the wall and into the cavity to engage a side of the animal. An overhead restraining member is mounted to the body above the base. The overhead restraining member is displaceable toward and away from the base to engage the animal. A tightening mechanism is mounted to the body and has at least one rotatable rod. The first end of the rod has a rotatable handle to rotate the rod and the second end has a cam engaging one of the side restraining members. The handle rotates the cam and displaces the side restraining members into the cavity.
