Energy delivery system using an electric field

An energy delivery system includes an RF synthesizer circuit configured to generate an RF electric signal and a preamplification stage operably coupled to the RF synthesizer circuit. The preamplification stage has at least one attenuator. A board controller is operably coupled to the attenuator of the preamplification stage that is configured to modify a gain setting of the attenuator. An output connection is configured to provide a low-power signal or a high-power signal based on at least the RF electric signal and the gain setting. The low-power signal or high-power signal is provided to an RF applicator configured to couple an alternating RF electric field to animal tissue.

Apparatus for restraining the lower legs and feet of a livestock animal

An apparatus for securing the legs of livestock animals includes a frame also which defines an entrance and an exit and which presents sidewalls which extend between the entrance and the exit thereby presenting a chute suitable for the ingress and egress of a livestock animal. Near the floor of the chute and between the entrance and the exit are leg bars which are able to move between a retracted position suitable for allowing the lower legs of a livestock animal to move freely between the leg bars and the sidewalls and an extended position in which the leg bars are closer to the sidewalls so that the lower legs of a livestock animal are held securely between the leg bars and sidewalls. The apparatus can be used to secure the lower legs of a livestock animal and thereby immobilize the animal.

POULTRY CARRIERS AND METHODS OF RESTRAINING POULTRY
20190216586 · 2019-07-18 ·

Bird carriers and methods of restraining birds are disclosed. Each bird carrier may include a torso support, one or more leg clamps, and a head support. The head support may further include a beak receiving passage such that at least a portion of the birds' beaks are exposed. The bird carriers may restrain one or both legs and heads of the birds while supporting their torsos. Restraining the legs and the heads of the birds while supporting their torsos may produce a calming effect such that the birds exhibit significantly reduced struggling in an attempt to free themselves from the carrier.

Animal positioner

An animal positioner includes two forelimb positioning members cylindrically attached to forelimbs of an animal, respectively, so as to wrap the forelimbs; two hindlimb positioning members cylindrically attached to hindlimbs of the animal, respectively, so as to wrap the hindlimbs, the two hindlimb positioning members being longer than the forelimb positioning members; a trunk positioning member which is longer than the hindlimb positioning members, the trunk positioning member being cylindrically attached to a trunk of the animal so as to wrap the trunk between the forelimb positioning members which are attached to the forelimbs of the animal, respectively, and the hindlimb positioning members which are attached to the hindlimbs thereof, respectively; and a head positioning member attached to a head of the animal so as to form a truncated cone circumferential surface and wrap the head above the forelimb positioning members.

A large animal treatment table includes a movable base frame having front and rear portions separated by a transverse center plane, the front portion including right and left front frame parts spaced by a first gap. The table also includes a lift disposed entirely rearward of the transverse center plane. A tabletop is connected to the lift and has a front portion and a rear portion separated by the center plane. The front portion of the tabletop is cantilevered over the first gap such that, in a side view, the base frame and the lift and the tabletop have a C-shaped profile. The base frame and the tabletop are also configured such that the tabletop is movable over a table of a treatment device and such that an emitter head of an imaging device is rotatable around the cantilevered front portion.

Extremity imaging for animals

An apparatus captures radiographic images of an animal standing proximate the apparatus. A moveable x-ray source and a digital radiographic detector are hidden from view of the animal and are revolved about a portion of the animal's body to capture one or a sequence of radiographic images of the animal's body.

MULTIPLE-APERTURE COMPUTERIZED TOMOGRAPHY SYSTEMS

A scanning system having a plurality of X-ray sources together with a single X-ray detector that uses sequentially emitted overlapping fan-shaped or cone-shaped beams to image a target such as the leg of a horse. The X-ray detector is rotated closer to the target and the X-ray emitter sources are rotated at a greater distance from the target. The positioning systems of the X-ray detector and the X-ray sources may be operated independently of one another, with each of the X-ray detector and the X-ray sources being also rotated about separate axes passing therethrough (while they are both being rotated around the target) as a way to keep the X-ray sources and the X-ray detector parallel to one another while working in very tight spaces.
