TOWER CRANE WITH AUTOMATIC FOLDING AND UNFOLDING STANCHION
A tower crane configured to fold and unfold between a working configuration and a transport configuration includes a boom hinged in rotation relative to a mast about a main axis of rotation. The tower crane includes a rear retainer fastened to a frame supporting the mast and to a stanchion. The stanchion extends the boom rearwardly of the main axis of rotation and is displaceable relative to the boom between a working position and a transport position. The tower crane further includes a lifting cable connected to a winding device exerting, on the lifting cable, a tension force applied on stanchion by a return system configured to cooperate with the lifting cable, so as to cause displacement of said stanchion from the working position to the transport position.

Crane risk logic apparatus and system and method for use of same
A crane risk logic apparatus and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the crane risk logic apparatus, the crane risk logic apparatus is integral with a crane, such as a crawler crane or a tower crane, and located in communication with a load moment indicator. The crane risk logic apparatus receives crane data from the load moment indicator and determines lift cycle data therefrom. The crane risk logic apparatus determines an area of interest based on locationing data received from a global positioning system (GPS) unit incorporated therewith and receives weather data for this area of interest. The crane risk logic apparatus causes an alert notification at the crane to occur in response to presence of weather issues.
CONFINED-SPACE DAVIT
A confined-space davit, including a vertical, elongate mast provided by at least one annular tube; and, a boom that is pivotally connected to an upper end portion of the mast and that extends forwardly from the mast. The tube comprises a forward wall and an opposing rearward wall and comprises left and right opposing lateral sidewalls that each connect the forward wall to the rearward wall.
LIMITED ROTATION SLEWING RING CRANE
A limited rotation slewing ring crane comprises: a pedestal, a column rotatively coupled, about a first rotation axis, to the pedestal by a slewing ring rotative coupling, and means for limiting the relative rotation of the column with respect to the pedestal. The crane further comprises a rotative sensor adapted to measure a rotation angle of the column with respect to the pedestal, wherein said rotation sensor comprises: a tubular body axially extending from the base of the column and rotatively integral with the same; a stationary body connected to the pedestal and a wheel, rotatable with respect to the stationary body about a second rotation axis, which is meshed by the tubular body, wherein the second rotation axis of the wheel with respect to the stationary body is offset with respect to the first rotation axis of the column with respect to the pedestal; means for sensing the angular position of the wheel with respect to the stationary body.

LUFFING BOOM TOWER CRANE EQUIPPED WITH AN ADJUSTABLE WIND LOAD SYSTEM
A tower crane includes a tower on which is pivotally mounted a boom displaceable between a lowered position and a raised position. The crane is configurable between a service configuration in which the boom is controlled in rotation and a weather vane configuration in which the boom is in the raised position and is released in rotation on the tower to allow orientation in the direction of the wind. A wind load system is mounted on the boom and is adjustable between a retracted shape in the service configuration providing a reduced surface exposed to the wind, and a deployed shape in the weather vane configuration providing an extended surface exposed to the wind. The wind load system is configured to move from the retracted shape to the deployed shape under the effect of its own weight alone (i.e., under gravity) when the boom is raised.

Pipe lifting and orienting apparatus and method
A pipe lifting apparatus and method related thereto are provided, wherein the pipe has a base with outriggers, a vertically extending beam having a pulley at its upper end and a cable attached to a winch and extending over the pulley. The pulley and winch are oriented so that the cable extends naturally in line with a vertex between two of the outriggers such that, when a pipe in a vertical sleeve is attached to the distal end and is lifted by the cable, the pipe passes adjacent to the vertex. The apparatus is configured to raise pipes from a vertical pipe sleeve used in floating roofs of above-ground storage tanks. The apparatus can be used to raise and lower pipes and to move them around the upper surface of the floating roof of the tanks.
