A lifting rig for moving heavy objects on rooftops having a framework supported by a plurality of sets of wheel assemblies. The framework has a pair of longitudinal truss assemblies wherein each truss assembly sits on top of the sets of wheel assemblies. Each of the two truss assemblies has a mast member extending upwardly to a cross beam which thus connects both truss members. Each mast member extends telescopically from an anchor post which itself extends perpendicularly from a truss member forming part of the truss assembly. From the cross beam hangs at least one chain block for raising and lowering a load; the chain block is hooked onto a means for hooking straddling over the cross beam.

Rope hoisting system

Various hoisting systems having an assembly for gripping a hoisting line are provided. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a hoisting system having a plurality of sheaves and a chain reeved about the plurality of sheaves. The chain includes links having clamps for selectively gripping a hoisting line. The hoisting system also includes a closing track having a travel path for the clamps of the links of the chain. This travel path includes an opening between two opposing surfaces and at least a portion of the opening has a width between the two opposing surfaces narrower than the widths of the clamps, when open, such that, when the links pass along the travel path of the closing track, the two opposing surfaces cause the clamps to close about the hoisting line. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

A telescoping barrier assembly provides interlocking modules coupled together so as to slide vertically with respect to the other. The modules telescopically extend to a deployed position to form a barrier that withstands inertial and the external forces, and then retracts to a collapsed position. The modules include a base module and a plurality of deployable modules that are arranged in a nested configuration, such that each module slides in and out of an adjacent module. The base module has a mounting portion that may be subterranean. A lifting mechanism applies an axial force to the deployable modules to enable displacement between the operational and collapsed position. Spring biased lateral support members help the deployable modules remain in the extended position and a pulley system helps displace the modules to the collapsed position. An inner and outer seal inhibit liquid leakage between the module and between multiple adjacent assemblies.

LOAD LINE GUIDE
20170166424 · 2017-06-15 ·

A load line guide is configured to direct a load line of an crane along a boom assembly, the load line guide comprising a guide housing and a first guide cam. The guide housing presents a gap oriented in a lateral direction and a channel oriented in a longitudinal direction. The first guide cam is pivotably secured to the guide housing and disposed in the gap. The first guide cam is configured to be selectively placed into an open position and a closed position. While the first guide cam is in the open position, the load line guide is configured to receive the load line into the channel of the guide housing; and while the first guide cam is in the closed position, the guide housing is configured to retain the load line guide within the channel of the guide housing.
