FALL PROTECTION DEVICE FOR A HOIST
20190322500 · 2019-10-24 ·

A hoist, a hoisting apparatus with said hoist and a method for securing a hoist. A hoist body having a drive mechanism for raising or lowering a hoist chain or a hoist cable is suspended from a support device by a hoist support. A safety device having a loosely arranged coupling element and a damping element is mounted between the hoist body and the support device. If the hoist support is released, the hoist body can drop by a drop height until the coupling element becomes taut. The damping element then damps the fall under the load of the hoist body, the hoist chain and whatever load is suspended from it.

INTEGRATED HOIST MAINTENANCE AND METHOD OF HOIST OPERATION

A hoist controller for a rescue hoist collects hoist operating data from one or more sensors during operation of the rescue hoist. The hoist controller compares the hoist operating data to a maintenance parameter stored in a memory of the hoist controller and determines a maintenance task status based on the comparison of the hoist operating data and the maintenance parameter. The hoist controller automatically initiates maintenance routines where the maintenance task status indicates that maintenance is required, and the hoist controller provides the maintenance routines to the user via a user interface. The hoist controller can confirm that the maintenance task was successfully completed based on maintenance data received from the one or more sensors.

Method of detecting a worn link in a chain, and a hoist arrangement

A method for detecting a worn link in a chain of a host arrangement includes measuring a first signal while the hoist operates. A hoist arrangement and use of a signal for detecting a worn link in a chain are also disclosed.

Compact hoist accessories and combination systems

A hoist system having a drum primarily self-contained within a batten, for raising and lowering lighting, sound equipment, curtains and the like, often in a performance environment. The compact system is highly scalable to a variety of spaces and applications, including school and public theaters and concert halls, as well as some homes, private business, etc. The hoist system may be adapted with safety mechanisms including an overspeed detector, which may comprise a centrifugal detection mechanism coupled to an elongate member of the system; dampening means; a compact mechanism for trimming or adjusting an operative length of elongate member; stabilizing pipe shaft bearings; elongate member diverter pulley mechanisms load balancing termination points. Additional features include various alternative combination hoist implementations and orientations, and alternative incorporated attachment mechanisms for use with the hoist system.

Motor-Driven Fairlead for Assisting Spooling or Unspooling from a Winch

A fairlead for use with a winch is disclosed. The fairlead is made up of a first and second roller, a motor, a sensor, and a controller. The rollers are adapted to aid in spooling or unspooling a line. The motor drives at least the first roller. The sensor determines whether a winch drum is spooling or unspooling a line. The controller is connected to the motor and communicates with the sensor. The sensor determines whether the winch drum is spooling or unspooling the line. The controller is configured to direct the motor so that the rollers assist in unspooling or spooling the line in coordination with the winch drum. In some embodiments, the fairlead is integrated into the winch.

Winch Load Indicator

An indicator for use with a winch is disclosed. It includes; a sensor for determining the load on a winch, a controller in communication with the sensor, and a load indicator comprising multiple lights in an array. Each of the lights in the array can be changed by the controller from one appearance to another. The controller is configured to change the appearance of each of the lights in the array, with the number of lights with a changed appearance being proportional to the load sensed by the sensor. Preferably, the indicator is incorporated into a fairlead for use with a winch.
