DETECTION SYSTEM FOR MOUNT THROUGH INTRACORPORAL COMMUNICATIONS (IBC)
A system for detecting mount events in animals, which uses the technique of intrabody (IBC) signal transmission is provided. The system is has a fundamental unit dispensed in each animal, which has an electronic box fastened to the neck of each animal through a collar and mainly formed by four modules: 1) processor, 2) sensor; 3) IBC (Intra-Body Communication) transceiver, 4) RF (radiofrequency) transceiver. The process for detecting the mount event with the system disclosed herein is also provided.
A PAINT APPLICATOR, AND A METHOD FOR APPLYING PAINT TO A SURFACE
A paint applicator (1) comprises a housing (3) defining a hollow interior region (4) having a circumferentially extending inner arcuate surface (20). A roller (5) provided with a circumferentially extending paint transfer surface (34) is rotatably mounted in the housing (3) about a rotational axis (7). A paint container (9) releasably secured to an inlet port (35) in the housing (3) communicates the paint container (9) with a communicating recess (37) formed into the inner arcuate surface (20) of the housing (3). The communicating recess (37) communicates the paint transfer surface (34) of the roller (5) with paint from the paint container (9) through the inlet port (35). The paint transfer surface (34) of the roller (5) cooperates with the inner arcuate surface (20) of the housing (3) in order to form a seal around the periphery of the communicating recess (37) when the roller (5) is stationary in the housing (3) to seal the paint in the communicating recess (37).
Smart cattle reproduction management and digital farm to market transparency metrics
A method of smart cattle reproduction management and digital farm to market transparency metrics tracks, monitors, and predicts reproductive efficiency, providing actionable information that allows the cattle rancher to optimize operations to ensure a high calf crop percentage. Using conventional ear tags to track and monitor the location, temperature, and movement of each animal in the herd, a highly accurate and data-driven reproductive performance score may be calculated for open heifers, cows, and bulls, thereby allowing actions to be taken to enhance reproductive efficiency. In addition, given the high risk of losing a heifer during calving, a method provides a means to detect, in advance and remotely, when a pregnant heifer is about to start calving to allow the cattle rancher to go on site, locate the animal, and provide any veterinary assistance that may be required should the delivery be difficult.
Reusable Estrus Detection System
A reusable estrus detection system includes disposable components and reusable components that interlock during operation. Following use, the disposable components can be disengaged and replaced by interlocking a new set of disposable components with the reusable components.
Method for obtaining information about a farm animal
The invention relates to a method for obtaining information about a farm animal, wherein a device (a) is attached to the head region of an animal, said device containing at least one acceleration sensor by means of which recurring acceleration data is measured, wherein the acceleration data is evaluated using automatic data processing means, and, as an outcome of the evaluation, is indicative of the activities and/or conditions of the animal. The acquired acceleration data is evaluated in order to detect the swallowing processes carried out by the animal.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INDICATING THE NEURO-COGNITIVE AND PHYSIOLOGICAL CONDITION OF AN ANIMAL
Systems and methods are provided for indicating the neuro-cognitive and physiological condition of an animal. A system may comprise a hardware processor; and a non-transitory machine-readable storage medium encoded with instructions executable by the hardware processor to perform a method comprising: collecting physiological data representing one or more physiological indicators of an animal; determining a neuro-cognitive and physiological condition of the animal based on the one or more physiological indicators; and rendering the neuro-cognitive and physiological condition as a human-perceivable representation.
DEVICE FOR ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION, GYNAECOLOGICAL EXAMINATION OF THE VAGINA AND THE CERVIX, AND TO ASSIST WITH UTERINE TREATMENTS AND SAMPLE COLLECTION IN LIVESTOCK
A device for artificial insemination, gynaecological examination of the vagina and the cervix, intra-uterine treatments and uterine sample collection in livestock. The device includes: a guiding sleeve having a proximal end for being positioned in the reproductive system of the animal and a distal end for being handled by the user; a gynaecological instrument, such as an insemination gun, an insemination or treatment catheter, or a sample-collection swab, slidingly housed in the guiding sleeve, the instrument being capable of being operated by the user at the rear end thereof, located on the side of the distal end of the guiding sleeve, in order for the front end thereof to lead through an opening located at the proximal end of the guiding sleeve so as to allow the insemination, treatment or sample collection. The guiding sleeve has a blocking element for blocking the sliding of the instrument inside the guiding sleeve.
DAIRY CATTLE BREEDING STATUS INDICATOR TECHNOLOGY
A bovine estrus detection device includes a generally rectangular base having sides and ends, the base having a predetermined length and a predetermined width, and the width being less than the length, the base having a first side and. a second side. The first side of the base has a central region having a first color and end regions having a second color. The second color is different from the first color. An adhesive is disposed on the second side of the base for coupling the base to a female cow or heifer. A removable coating is disposed over the first side of the base. The removable coating is exposed for contact by male or female cows mounting the female cow or heifer to which the device is attached. The coating is adapted to being removed by mounting male or female cows, whereby the first and second colors become visible. Exposure of the first color in the central region is an. accurate predictor of activation and estrus.
Sensor apparatus and associated systems and methods
Exemplary embodiments are directed to sensor apparatuses for attachment to an animal that include a housing and a sensor assembly. The housing can be attachable to the animal and includes an internal cavity formed therein. The sensor assembly can be disposed within the internal cavity of the housing. The sensor assembly includes a force sensor and an accelerometer arranged to detect force data and accelerometer data representative of a physiological state of the animal. Exemplary embodiments are also directed to method and sensor systems for detecting a physiological state of an animal.
Method, system and apparatus for detecting when an animal is in heat
This invention relates to a method, system and apparatus for detecting when an animal is in heat. The invention further relates to a method of alerting a responsible individual that the animal is in heat. The method for detecting when an animal is in heat comprises the steps of, using a sensor mounted on a bull, monitoring the activity of the bull in the proximity of the animal. Thereafter, the activity of the bull is analysed before finally it is determined, based on the analysed activity of the bull, whether or not the animal is in heat. The invention shifts the focus from the animal, such as a cow, to the bull and leans on the natural instincts of the bull to determine when the cow is in heat. By implementing such a system, a more reliable and/or less expensive system than many of the existing offerings is provided.
