SYSTEM FOR TRACKING, COORDINATION, AND CONTROL OF LIVESTOCK BIRTHING OPERATIONS

In one or more arrangements, a system for tracking, coordination, and/or control of livestock birthing operations is presented. In one or more arrangements the system includes a backend system and one or more personal electronic devices communicatively connected to the backend system. The personal electronic devices are configured to provide a user interface for workers to monitor and update information for a set of farrowing livestock animals in the backend system. In one or more arrangements, the system provides a platform implemented by operations coordination software on the backend system and the user interface on the personal electronic devices. The platform is designed to serve as the epicenter of day-to-day operations in livestock operations, tracking and providing critical information about employee performance, animal health, animal production, and link with and/or control performance of automated agricultural equipment and/or third-party technologies.

Livestock stillbirthing alerting system

An image capture device with processors can execute a set of instructions stored in the system memory to: receive a plurality of time-sequenced images of the animal from the digital image sensor; determine, using an artificial intelligence module, a first birth in process from a first subset of images of the plurality of time-sequenced images of the animal; and determine an interval of time lapse between the first birth in process from the first subset of images of the plurality of time-sequenced images of the animal and a next birth in process from the next subset of images of the plurality of time-sequenced images of the animal, as determined using the artificial intelligence module, and when the interval of time lapse between the first birth in process and the next birth in process exceeds a predetermined amount trigger an action from an alert trigger.

MOBILE ANIMAL SURVEILLANCE AND DISTRESS MONITORING

A method for remote animal surveillance and distress monitoring includes detecting biometric and behavioral parameters of the animal, identifying novel events based on comparison of detected parameters to predefined parameter values and qualifications; determining whether a composite parameter value exceeds a predefined composite threshold value indicative of possible distress in the animal; and notifying remote caretakers of possible distress in the animal based on the composite value exceeding the predefined composite threshold value.

PARTURITION SURVEILLANCE AND ALERTING SYSTEM

A system for alerting of an anomaly detected during a parturition event prior to separation of an offspring from an animal is provided. The system includes a control model trained to detect at least one parturition stage based on input data, a camera configured to capture a stream of images of the animal and provide the stream of images to the control model via a controller, an alerting device, and the controller. The controller is configured to determine a moment in time when one of the at least one parturition stage is commenced, determine a passed time since the moment in time and compare the passed time with a time threshold length, and either trigger the alerting device when the time threshold length is exceeded or determine when the at least one parturition stage of the parturition event is discontinued.

BIRTHING SENSOR

This invention relates to a birthing sensor (1) for mounting on the tail of a pregnant animal. The birthing sensor comprises a casing (3) and an adjustable strap (5) for securing the casing to the tail of the pregnant animal. The casing houses monitoring equipment, communication equipment and a power supply. There is provided a padding insert (7, 37, 47) for location between the casing, the strap and the animal's tail. The padding insert comprises a sheet of resiliently deformable material, such as rubber, having a plurality of ventilation passageways formed therein. The ventilation passageways allow passage of air over the cow's tail underneath the sensor and further allow escape of urine and faeces from under the sensor. The passageways may be formed by having a plurality of upstanding bosses (9) on the surface of the padding insert and the passageways are the spaces between these upstanding bosses (9).

DATA NETWORK FOR MONITORING ANIMALS
20170099810 · 2017-04-13 · ·

The invention relates to a data network for automatically monitoring voluntary behaviors of individual animals of an animal herd. The individual animals of the animal herd each have a node of the data network. A further node is attached at a location which an animal preferably approaches in the course of a behavior to be monitored. In the event that the animal approaches the node, communication occurs between the nodes, in which communication one node is identified by the other node and a central data-processing system is informed that the two nodes have come into contact. The communication between the two nodes occurs by means of the transfer of electrical signals in a closed electrical alternating-current circuit, which also passes, among other things, through the body of the animal as an electrical conductor.

ANIMAL HEALTH SENSOR SYSTEM

A system includes a temperature sensor and circuitry to collect information from the temperature sensor and transmit the information to a server. The temperature sensor and circuitry are formed as an integrated node adapted to be placed on an exposed skin area of a tail, or on a hoof wall of an animal. The server processes the information and may transmit the information to one or more remote devices. A strain gage may also be included in the node to attach to the hoof wall.

METHOD FOR MONITORING PREGNANCY IN MAMMALS

The present invention relates to a method for long term, continuous, monitoring of pregnant mammals particularly to detect the onset of labor. For The example, the method enables communication of data representing impedance through tissue of a cervix of a pregnant mammal an external module for display and monitoring of the collected data by a clinician.
