COVER REMOVAL SYSTEM FOR USE IN CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT ENCLOSURES
An apparatus and method are presented for removing container covers within a controlled environment enclosure without using gloves. The apparatus comprises an articulated arm apparatus and a gripping apparatus and can further comprise a controller. The articulated arm apparatus can be configurable for holding and moving a container in three dimensions; and the gripping apparatus can be configured for gripping a container cover sealing the container. The method comprises moving the container using the articulated arm apparatus while holding a gripping area of the container cover substantially stationary using the gripping apparatus. The apparatus can further comprise a sensor configured for supplying information to the controller for determining the location of the container cover gripping area and an orientation of the container cover. The method can further comprise inspecting the container cover using the sensor. The container can be moved along a path and within a space determined by the controller.

CLOSURE TOOL FOR A CENTRIFUGE SAMPLE CONTAINER AND METHOD FOR REMOVING A CLOSURE FROM A CENTRIFUGE SAMPLE CONTAINER
A tool for removing first and second centrifuge bottle closure members from a centrifuge bottle includes a tool head including an aperture sized and shaped to receive a protruding portion of the first centrifuge bottle closure member. The tool further includes an elongate shaft extending from the tool head to a distal end and including a tapered portion adjacent the distal end. The tapered portion is sized and shaped to be at least partially inserted in a recessed portion of the second centrifuge bottle closure member. The aperture is configured to transfer torque to the first centrifuge bottle closure member during a rotating operation of the tool and the tapered portion is configured to exert an output force on the second centrifuge bottle closure member during a prying operation of the tool.

CONTAINER WITH CAP OPENING FEATURE
Containers comprise a container body and a cap, wherein the cap comprises a surface feature configured to accommodate engagement with a member to provide desired increased leverage to a user to aid loosening and/or removing the cap from the container. The surface feature may be an opening or any other surface feature, and the member may be another container having a cap or container body having a surface feature configured to complement and fit the surface feature of the cap, forming an interlocking attachment therewith. Both containers may be configured identically, each having surface features that complement one another, thereby forming a system made up of such two containers for loosening/removing the caps of one another. The caps each may include an opening and a section sized to fit in the opening so that the section of one cap fits in the opening of the other cap.
CAP OPENING AND CLOSING APPARATUS
A cap opening and closing apparatus that opens and closes caps of a plurality of micro tubes, includes: a first rotary member that rotates around a first rotation axis; a plurality of first engaging portions which are mounted on the first rotary member, and which respectively uncap the plurality of micro tubes by temporarily engaging with the caps during rotation of the first rotary member; a second rotary member that rotates around a second rotation axis different from the first rotation axis; and a plurality of capping units that, during rotation of the second rotary member, respectively cap the plurality of micro tubes by converting a force of the rotation into a force that temporarily pushes upper surfaces of the caps.
