Sphincter assist device and method of use
A sphincter assist device includes a plurality of interconnected and adjacent links which define a ring. Each link includes a body section and a latch cam. The body section includes a first set of side beams and a first set of snap arms. The latch cam includes a post extending from the body section and a cam disposed at an end portion of the post. The cam is engagable with the first set of snap arms of an adjacent link. Translation of the cam displaces the first set of snap arms and the first set of side beams to transition the sphincter assist device between open and closed configurations. The first set of snap arms, in combination with the first set of side beams, exert a positive non-linear force profile on the cam, thus defining a non-linear force profile of the sphincter assist device between the open and closed configurations.
Male incontinence control device and method of controlling male incontinence
A comfortable single-piece male incontinence control device (100) permitting conscious micturition without adjustment or removal of the device (100). The device having a continuous loop of an elastic compression band (110) configured and arranged to securely encircle a flaccid penis P without inflicting penile ischemia, and a bump (120) on the elastic compression band (110) projecting inward into the lumen (119) defined by the band (110) for pressing against and constricting the urethra U of a wearer W.
Surgical Method
A method is provided for maintaining the position of pelvic organs, such as components of the urinary tract. The method may involve anchoring the pelvic organs by inserting the implant via an anterior approach, avoiding complications and side effects that result when implants are inserted through the wall of the vagina.
ELASTIC BIORESORBABLE ENCASEMENT FOR IMPLANTS
Disclosed herein are elastic, bioresorbable encasements for medical implants, methods for making the same and uses thereof.
Male incontinence sleeve
Disclosed herein is a sleeve for reducing involuntary leakage of a flowable material from a urethral meatus of a penis. The sleeve comprises a body that is configured to temporarily receivably retain a glans penis. When the glans penis is temporarily receivably retained by the body, the body applies an inwardly-directed pressure to the glans penis to close a urethral meatus of the glans penis.
Inserter for urethral plug
A urethral plug inserter for insertion a urethral plug into a urethra of a male subject. The device including: a proximal insertion end; a distal gripping end; a central portion disposed between the proximal insertion end and the distal gripping end; and a central channel comprising a floor and axially extending from the proximal insertion end to the distal gripping end and configured to accept a lanyard section of the urethral plug.
Elongate implant system and method for treating pelvic conditions
Implant systems can include one or more needles, such as those used in pelvic floor repair procedures, and one or more elongate implants. A syringe or similar style hollow needle can be used to deliver the elongate mesh or other implant devices through one or more small stab incisions into the target tissue location inside the pelvis, proximate the vagina. The implant devices can be placed upon insertion through the incisions to engage and pull or tighten support tissue, such as the endopelvic fascia, pubocervical fascia, rectovaginal fascia, levator muscles, or other supportive muscles or tissue within the pelvis of the patient.
Surgical implant
An implant is provided for maintaining the position of pelvic organs, such as components of the urinary tract. The implant contacts the anterior surface of the urethra and is anchored to the pelvic fascia and the periurethral fascia. A method of anchoring the pelvic organs is also provided, involving inserting the implant via an anterior approach, avoiding complications and side effects that result when implants are inserted through the wall of the vagina.
Anatomical Support Systems, Devices, and Related Methods
The systems, devices and methods provide customizable and adjustable support to anatomical tissue or organs, such as pelvic, vaginal, uterine, cervical, bladder, rectal, among others, or any combination thereof. The anatomical support device may include a support member having a periphery that surrounds an opening. The support member may be configured to releasably and adjustably expand between one or more expanding states from a resting state and contract to the resting state. The support member may include a first portion and a second portion disposed along the periphery. Each portion may include a passage cross-sectional area and a wall thickness. The first wall thickness and/or the first passage cross-sectional area of the first portion may be different from the second wall thickness and/or the second passage cross-sectional area of the second portion.
Device for inguinal ligament fixation and surgery method thereof
A device for inguinal ligament fixation includes a suspension mesh, wherein the suspension includes: a cervix and anterior vaginal wall sling; wherein a first end of the cervix and anterior vaginal wall sling is connected to a cervix or an anterior vaginal wall; two inguinal ligament suspension arms, wherein a second end of each of the two inguinal ligament suspension arms is connected to a second end of the cervix and anterior vaginal wall sling, and the two inguinal ligament suspension arms are placed in a symmetrical form; and two sacral ligament and posterior vaginal wall suspension arms, wherein a second end of each of the two sacral ligament and posterior vaginal wall suspension arms is connected to the second end of the cervix and anterior vaginal wall sling, and the two sacral ligament and posterior vaginal wall suspension arms are placed in a symmetrical form.
