A lock-blade knife for cooking purposes comprises a housing, a blade pivotally attached to the housing and a locking mechanism. The blade is rotatable relative to the housing between a closed position and a least one cutting position. The locking mechanism is configured to lock the blade in the at least one cutting position. The locking mechanism comprises a biasing member, an engagement structure, and a grasping member. The engagement structure is disposed on the blade, and the grasping member is displaceable from a locking position into a releasing position. The grasping member is biased into the releasing position. The grasping member is in engagement with the engagement structure in the locking position when cutting to lock the blade in position. The blade is rotatable between the cutting position and the closed position when the grasping member is manually displaced into the releasing position.

A tool for removing first and second centrifuge bottle closure members from a centrifuge bottle includes a tool head including an aperture sized and shaped to receive a protruding portion of the first centrifuge bottle closure member. The tool further includes an elongate shaft extending from the tool head to a distal end and including a tapered portion adjacent the distal end. The tapered portion is sized and shaped to be at least partially inserted in a recessed portion of the second centrifuge bottle closure member. The aperture is configured to transfer torque to the first centrifuge bottle closure member during a rotating operation of the tool and the tapered portion is configured to exert an output force on the second centrifuge bottle closure member during a prying operation of the tool.

The fulcrum arm having a cap relief and a cap hook configured to provide leverage against a pry-off-type bottle cap edge, so as to enhance the effectiveness of removal of the bottle cap. The wine bottle opening end being opposite of the bottle cap opening end. The wine bottle opening end having a fixedly mounted corkscrew. A detachable bottle opening handle having a cavity is attachable to the wine bottle opening end such that the fixedly mounted corkscrew is insertable within the cavity.
