MIXING AND DISPENSING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MIXING AND DISPENSING MATERIAL FROM A MIXING AND DISPENSING SYSTEM
A mixing and dispensing system for a two-component material, such as a bone cement, the mixing and dispensing system including a handle connected to the mixer via a mixing shaft. The mixing shaft extends through the piston from the piston driving end in the direction of the outlet end in order to move the mixer in dependence on movements initiated via the handle, and with the handle being detachable, in particular in a non-destructive manner, from the mixing shaft via a connector.
Dispenser Actuator Assembly
A dispenser actuator assembly (100) for actuating a dispenser (10) is disclosed. The dispenser (10) is in the form of a glass ampoule assembly (10) having a rupturable glass ampoule (12) containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule (12) is contained within an outer container (14) wherein the outer container (14) has a distal end segment defining a first open end (22) and a second closed end (24). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) has a base member (102) having an opening (110) configured to mount to the outer container (14). The base member (102) has an outlet aperture (280) configured to be in fluid communication with the outer container (14). The base member (102) has an applicator (250) integrally formed thereon and extending from the base member (102). The applicator is in fluid communication with the outlet aperture (280). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) also has an actuator assembly (104) operably connected to the base member (102) wherein the actuator assembly (104) has a first actuator arm (132a) and a second actuator arm (132b) each pivotally connected to the base member (102). The first actuator arm (132a) and the second actuator arm (132b) extend from the base member (102) in generally opposed relation defining a first position, or neutral position. The first actuator arm (132a) has a first protrusion (150a) depending therefrom and the second actuator arm (132b) has a second protrusion (150b) depending therefrom. The first actuator arm (132a) and the second actuator arm (132b) are pivotable from the first position towards one another to a second position, or actuating position, that is configured such that the first protrusion (150a) engages the outer container (14) and the second protrusion (150b) engages the outer container (14) to crush the glass ampoule (12) wherein the flowable material (M) is configured to be dispensed from the glass ampoule assembly (10) and through the applicator.
Dispenser Actuator Assembly
A dispenser actuator assembly (100) for actuating a dispenser (10) is disclosed. The dispenser (10) is in the form of a glass ampoule assembly (10) having a rupturable glass ampoule (12) containing a flowable material (M). The glass ampoule (12) is contained within an outer container (14) wherein the outer container (14) has a distal end segment defining a first open end (22) and a second closed end (24). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) has a base member (102) having an opening (110) configured to mount to the outer container (14). The base member (102) has an outlet aperture (280) configured to be in fluid communication with the outer container (14). The base member (102) has an applicator (250) integrally formed thereon and extending from the base member (102). The applicator is in fluid communication with the outlet aperture (280). The dispenser actuator assembly (100) also has an actuator assembly (104) operably connected to the base member (102) wherein the actuator assembly (104) has a first actuator arm (132a) and a second actuator arm (132b) each pivotally connected to the base member (102). The first actuator arm (132a) and the second actuator arm (132b) extend from the base member (102) in generally opposed relation defining a first position, or neutral position. The first actuator arm (132a) has a first protrusion (150a) depending therefrom and the second actuator arm (132b) has a second protrusion (150b) depending therefrom. The first actuator arm (132a) and the second actuator arm (132b) are pivotable from the first position towards one another to a second position, or actuating position, that is configured such that the first protrusion (150a) engages the outer container (14) and the second protrusion (150b) engages the outer container (14) to crush the glass ampoule (12) wherein the flowable material (M) is configured to be dispensed from the glass ampoule assembly (10) and through the applicator.

A device for discharging a flowable substance, in particular for applying a medical substance, a pharmaceutical substance, a food supplement or a cosmetics, includes_an activation mechanism and a body which has a discharge opening at a first end and forms a containing space in which a frangible capsule is disposed. The capsule has two ends each having a first and a second tip and at least one of the two tips can be snapped off by actuating the activation mechanism so that the flowable substance is discharged.
Device and method for manually opening glass ampules and a cementing device
Devices and methods manually open glass ampules within the devices. One device may include a holder having at least one deformable side wall, a supporting element, and at least one strainer/filter arranged below the holder so that the content of the opened glass ampule may flows therethrough. A first lever of the device may pivot around a first axis and a free end of the first lever may be pressed against the deformable side wall of the holder. A second lever of the device may pivot around a second axis that may divide the second lever into a short lever arm and a long lever arm. The short lever arm may be pressed against the first lever and a glass ampule may be broken open by pressure of the free end of the first lever.
Device and method for manually opening glass ampules and a cementing device
Devices and methods manually open glass ampules within the devices. One device may include a holder having at least one deformable side wall, a supporting element, and at least one strainer/filter arranged below the holder so that the content of the opened glass ampule may flows therethrough. A first lever of the device may pivot around a first axis and a free end of the first lever may be pressed against the deformable side wall of the holder. A second lever of the device may pivot around a second axis that may divide the second lever into a short lever arm and a long lever arm. The short lever arm may be pressed against the first lever and a glass ampule may be broken open by pressure of the free end of the first lever.

An assembly fixture device for attaching a vial adapter to a vial includes a base, a support member secured to the base, a handle connected to the support member, a vial adapter grip assembly connected to the handle and comprising an adapter grip member configured to engage and hold a vial adapter, and a vial grip assembly connected to the base comprising first and second grip members that are movable relative to each other and configured to engage and hold a vial. The first grip member is biased toward the second grip member to provide a vial engagement force, where the vial engagement force is about constant when a distance between the first and second grip members is less than 40 mm.

A device for opening a sealed glass ampoule includes a housing that aligns the ampoule with a breaking mechanism. The breaking mechanism includes a sloped region that corresponds to the ampoule to be broken. After breakage of the ampoule, the ampoule head is stored in a storage area and can be removed later without the user having to touch the broken glass. The ampoule opener can be used with a mating base or on a countertop or other flat surface. The ampoule opener removes the need for the user to touch the ampoule during or after opening.
