A carbonated beverage aseptic filling system (10) comprises: a filling nozzle (72) for filling a carbonated beverage; a carbonated beverage filling tank (75) connected to the filling nozzle (72) via a carbonated beverage supplying pipe (73) and a counter pressure pipe (74); a snift pipe (78) connected to the filling nozzle; and an aseptic chamber (13) enclosing the filling nozzle (72), at least part of the carbonated beverage supplying pipe (73), and at least part of the counter pressure pipe (74). The carbonated beverage supplying pipe (73) and the counter pressure pipe (74) are attached to the aseptic chamber (13) by a rotary joint (77). A discharging valve (79) is provided in the snift pipe (78) inside the aseptic chamber (13), and gas from the snift pipe (78) is discharged into the aseptic chamber.

The present beverage bottling plant is a sterile non-hermetic isolator, the inside of which is filled with a sterilizing mixture containing hot air and atomized finely dispersed hydrogen peroxide H.sub.2O.sub.2, i.e. hydrogen peroxide vapor. The plant is configured on the principle of a single-shell isolator enclosure and operates continuously. Air extractor casings are arranged at a receptacle inlet and a receptacle outlet, said casings creating controlled movement of a sterilizing medium inside and providing a continuous entrainment effect. The inside walls of a receptacle are treated with hot sterile air directly before the receptacle is filled with a product, and the inside walls of a lid are treated with hot sterile air directly before closure.

The carbonated beverage filling section and the beverage supply pipeline each include a rotary machine, and a boundary surface between a rotating body and a non-rotating body of the rotary machine is sealed with sterile water or sterile air.

A container processing system includes a filling apparatus and a sterilization apparatus, the filling apparatus including first processing units adapted to process a container held by a gripper at stop positions with a sixth rotating body being rotated while intermittently stopped, the sterilization apparatus including a servomotor adapted to stop the container held by a gripper at an appropriate processing position by driving a second rotating body. During one intermittent motion of the filling apparatus, the sterilization apparatus rotates the gripper of the second rotating body once and thereby moves the gripper from a receiving position for the container to the processing position, stops the gripper there, and then moves the gripper to a transfer position.
