A catheter delivery system package includes a tray, an extension tube coupled to the tray, an end cap sealing an end of the extension tube, and a lid coupled to the tray. The sealed rigid tray provides a highly robust sterile barrier, free of folds and abrasions. By eliminating compound folds, the possibility of failure of the catheter delivery system package is minimized. In addition, the catheter delivery system package has a reduced package volume. Further, the catheter delivery system package is 100% recyclable.
CONTAINMENT VESSEL WITH IMPLANT SHEATHING GUIDE
A containment vessel for storing and rinsing a medical implant coupled to a delivery system having an outer sheath may include a hollow element having a wall, a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending between the proximal end and the distal end, the lumen of the hollow element being configured and adapted to contain a medical implant in a partially-deployed configuration during storage and rinsing of the medical implant and a proximal end cap including a secondary proximal end cap removably secured to the proximal end cap and configured to reversibly seal the proximal end cap to the outer sheath, thereby establishing a closed fluid connection between the lumen of the hollow element and a lumen of the outer sheath. The proximal end cap may include a sheathing guide configured and adapted to direct the medical implant into the lumen of the outer sheath.
INFLATABLE MEDICAL DEVICES
An inflatable structure for use in biological lumens and methods of making and using the same are disclosed. The structure can have an inflatable balloon encircled by a shell. The shell can have proximal and distal tapered necks, longitudinally-oriented flutes, and apertures at the proximal and distal ends of the shell. The apertures can be recessed in the flutes in the necks. The shell can also have fiber reinforced walls.
Asymmetrical dual proximal end insertion bellow
An apparatus and method for inserting prosthesis implants into a patient pocket. The apparatus has three openings including a prosthesis opening, a large proximal opening, and a small proximal opening. The apparatus prevents infection; eases insertion and placement; and reduces complications. In use, the bellow is placed through the patient incision while allowing the bellow to be manipulated to force the prosthesis into a surgical pocket of a patient. Then the bellow is rotated so the distal end becomes the proximal end and inserted into the second incision while allowing the bellow to be manipulated to force the prosthesis into the second pocket.
SURGICAL MESH
A method for creating a surgical mesh includes heat treating a plurality of fibers; knitting the plurality of fibers into a mesh; and heat treating the mesh by applying heat at a temperature that falls within a range of 65 degrees Celsius to 110 degrees Celsius while subjecting the mesh to a tension that falls in a range of 4.0 Newtons per centimeter (N/cm) to 32.0 N/cm for a period of time that falls in a range of 1 hour to 9 hours.
HUMIDITY-MANAGEMENT PACKAGING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Packaging systems and methods are disclosed for storing a bioprosthetic device comprising a bioprosthetic tissue and maintaining a target relative humidity across a temperature range. The packaging system includes a sealed package defining an internal space having an internal volume, and a humidity control device and bioprosthetic device within the internal space. The humidity control device includes a barrier defining an enclosed space and a humidity control solution comprising glycerol in the enclosed space. At least a portion of the barrier comprises a gas-permeable membrane. The target relative humidity is provided within the internal volume of the sealed package and the control device maintains the target relative humidity across the temperature range by selectively liberating and absorbing water vapor.
MEDICAL ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A MEDICAL ARTICLE AND A PACKAGE CONTAINING SAID ARTICLE
A medical package containing a medical article, including: a support element comprising a hollow support tube and a support cap, wherein the support element includes a first chamber configured to enclose the medical article and wherein the support cap includes a support structure configured to hold the medical article captive; a stopper configured to be coupled to the hollow support tube in such a way that the support element has a grip part that protrudes from the stopper, the grip part of the support element configured to be held by a hand of a person; a hollow protective cover configured to be coupled to the stopper in such a way as to delimit, in cooperation with the stopper, a second chamber inside which there extends the grip part of the support element, the hollow protective cover configured to be separated from the stopper, wherein when the hollow protective cover is coupled to the stopper, a part of the stopper protrudes from the hollow protective cover, and is configured to form a grip end of the stopper that is configured to be held by a hand of a person, when the hollow protective cover is separated from the stopper, wherein a part of the support element is configured to be engaged by force inside the stopper, and when the hollow protective cover is separated from the stopper, the support element remains coupled to the stopper while the support element is also separable from the stopper when a person holds the grip part of the support element and pulls the support element so as to separate it from the stopper.
Prosthetic heart valve holder apparatus
Apparatus for use with a prosthetic heart valve includes a holder, to which the heart valve is releasably attached, and an elongated handle. The handle can be connected to the holder simply by pushing a distal end of the handle straight into a recess in the holder. After this has been done, the holder preferably releasable latches onto the handle, and the handle can also be rotated about its longitudinal axis to transmit torque to the holder (e.g., a rotatable portion of the holder). Rotation of such a rotatable portion of the holder can be used to deflect portions of the valve radially inward. This operation of a rotatable portion of the holder is preferably one-way only. The handle can be released from the holder at any time, and it can similarly be reconnected to the holder at any time.

The disclosure may relate to implant systems, kits, implants, devices, and associated methods that can quickly, easily and accurately deliver a soft tissue implant with minimal incisions/trauma to surrounding tissue. The soft implant may include one or more features disposed on or within the implant configured to engage an implant insertion tool. The one or more features may include one or more of a channel disposed along the length of the soft implant, groove, slot, notch, among others, or any combination thereof. The implant insertion tool may include an implant interface section configured to engage the one or more features.
