APPLICATOR INSTRUMENTS FOR DISPENSING SURGICAL FASTENERS, THE APPLICATOR INSTRUMENTS BEING CONTROLLED BY SURGICAL ROBOTS
A method of dispensing surgical fasteners includes providing an applicator instrument having a housing with a cartridge opening, an elongated shaft extending from the housing, a firing system disposed within the housing for dispensing surgical fasteners, and an actuator for activating the firing system. The method includes forming a surgical opening in tissue, inserting a distal end of the elongated shaft into the surgical opening, inserting a cartridge containing a plurality of first surgical fasteners into the cartridge opening, and engaging the actuator for dispensing one of the first surgical fasteners from the distal end of the elongated shaft. While maintaining the distal end of the elongated shaft inside the surgical opening, the cartridge is removed from the cartridge opening, a second cartridge containing a plurality of second surgical fasteners is inserted into the cartridge opening, and the actuator is engaged for dispensing one of the second surgical fasteners from the distal end of the elongated shaft.

PROSTATE INNER LUMEN EXPANSION
Various embodiments disclosed relate to a device for insertion into the urethra for dilation. The present disclosure includes methods and devices including a device for at least partial insertion into a prostate, the device including first and second elongated members each having at least one magnetizable or magnetic element. The first and second elongated members are magnetizable to repel each other to dilate a lumen therebetween.
Scaffold and method for implanting cells
An organ implant, such as a heart implant, including a support structure having a plurality of pores and defining passages configured for the growth of blood vessels; and stem cells from at least one soft tissue source of a patient deposited into the pores of the support structure is described. The implant is configured to repair a portion of an organ of the patient.

System, an apparatus, and a method for treating a sexual dysfunctional female patient
There is disclosed an apparatus, a system and a method for treating a sexual dysfunctional female patient. The apparatus comprises at least one expandable prosthesis adapted for implantation in female erectile tissue and adapted to be adjusted to temporarily achieve enlarged status of the female erectile tissue.

Resorbable nonwoven pouches for medical device implants
Nonwoven resorbable pouches that at least partially enclose implantable medical devices and improved methods for producing the implantable medical device pouches are described. The nonwoven pouches may comprise one or more drugs. Implantable medical devices that are placed in the pouches prior to implantation are prevented from migrating from the site of implantation by tissue ingrowth into the pouch. Antibiotics may be incorporated into the pouches to prevent post-operative infections. The pouches may be formed in fewer steps than conventional pouches, and without polymer coatings. Nonwoven pouches can be formed in one step by dry spinning instead of using multiple processing steps. In embodiments, the nonwoven pouches are smoother on the inside than the outside to tightly fit the implantable medical devices internally while encouraging external tissue ingrowth. In embodiments, the nonwoven pouches eliminate the use of knitted or woven multifilament fibers that can trap bacteria and result in post-operative infection.
PNEUMATIC STRUCTURE AND ASSOCIATED PRODUCTION METHOD
Pneumatic Structure and Associated Production Method
The structure (10) comprises an elastically deformable body (12) defining at least one network of internal cavities (14), each internal cavity (14) having a closed contour in at least one section of the internal cavity (14),
Each internal cavity (14) is able to be pressurized so as to make the elastically deformable body (12) pass from a rest configuration to at least one pressurized configuration,
In each pressurized configuration, the elastically deformable body (12) has a macroscopic metric that is distinct from its macroscopic metric in the rest position,
In each pressurized configuration, the radius of curvature of an outer surface of the elastically deformable body (12), considered regarding each internal cavity (14) adjacent to the outer surface, is greater than twice the size of the internal cavity (14) adjacent to the outer surface.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SENSING PARAMETERS IN IMPLANTABLE DEVICES
Medical implants including sensors are described. The implant may have a flexible shell with a base, wherein the plurality of sensors may be incorporated onto and/or into the shell. The plurality of sensors may be distributed at different locations of the shell. Each sensor of the plurality of sensors may be configured to measure one or more parameters such as, e.g., temperature and/or pressure, and may comprise an electromagnetic coil useful for wireless transmission of data. Each sensor may be configured to transmit data at a frequency different from the frequency of one or more of the other sensors, may be configured to transmit data at a time different from a time data is transmitted by one or more of the other sensors, and/or may include a device identifier different from the device identifier of one or more of the other sensors.
