A tie down strap slidably attaches to the rein assembly and affixes to the girth. The tie down strap is elastic so that the tie down ring does not overly restrict movement of the horses head upwardly or forwardly, and a likelihood of causing the horse to panic is lessened.

The nose-piece attachment includes a first side segment at a first end of the nose-piece attachment, a second side segment at an opposite, second end of the nose-piece attachment, and a center segment coupled between the first side segment and the second side segment.
