A work apparatus having a work tool and having a combustion engine which drives the work tool has a start enrichment device for the combustion engine and a braking arrangement for the work tool. The work apparatus has an operating mode selector for actuating the start enrichment device. The start enrichment device actuates the braking arrangement in at least one start position. Low actuating forces and a simple configuration are achieved when the braking arrangement is a differential band brake.

The trimmer may include a trim guard which may be rotatably adjustable. The trimmer may be adapted to plug into an external power source, which may be an external battery or a cellular telephone.

A plant sawing assembly for removing plants around a sprinkler head includes a hole saw that may be positioned around a sprinkler head to remove plants growing around the sprinkler head. A receiver extends upwardly from the hole saw and a shaft is removably positioned in the receiver. The shaft is coupled to a power tool thereby facilitating the power tool to spin the hole saw to cut the plants.

In combination: a) a cutting blade assembly having a frame and a first cutting blade member with a first cutting edge portion configured to cause relative movement between components on the cutting blade assembly whereby the at least first cutting edge portion effects severance of an object; and b) a protective sheath. The protective sheath can be moved relative to the cutting blade assembly between: a) a first separated position; and b) an assembled position. The protective sheath frictionally engages the cutting blade assembly to thereby be maintained in the assembled position. The protective sheath has at least one component that projects away from the cutting blade assembly and has oppositely facing surfaces that can be grasped between two fingers on a user's one hand to facilitate repositioning of the protective sheath.

The present invention is directed to a rigid, blade-shaped landscaping tool for defining and maintaining a well-defined boundary between a garden or soil bed and an adjacent natural or man-made ground surface. The tool generally comprising a vertical cutter, a horizontal cultivator, a grader flange and a handle mount disposed on the top edge of the blade. In particular, the landscaping function of the tool can be accomplished by physically drawing the tool along the adjacent natural or man-made ground surface whereby the vertical cutter and an associated horizontal cultivator sever plant growth and/or dislodge soil which are then physically graded away from the plane of the vertical cutter and away from the adjacent ground surface toward the soil bed to create the desired, well-defined edge and/or boundary between the soil bed and the adjacent ground surface.
