APPARATUS FOR TREATING OBESITY
An apparatus for treating obesity of an obese patient. The apparatus comprising a volume filling device adapted to be completely invaginated by a wall portion of a stomach of the patient. The volume filling device is adapted to be placed on the outside of the wall portion, with an outer surface of the volume filling device resting against the outside of the wall portion and such that a volume of a food cavity of the stomach is reduced in size by a volume having a treatment effect on the obesity.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LOCATING AND/OR CHARACTERIZING INTRAGASTRIC DEVICES
Devices and methods for treating obesity are provided. More particularly, intragastric devices and methods of fabricating, deploying, inflating, locating, tracking, monitoring, deflating, and retrieving the same are provided.
DEVICE FOR INHIBITING AT LEAST PARTIALLY THE SENSE OF SMELL
A device for inhibiting at least partially the sense of smell including a solid body is provided for having a main extension along a main plane in which it has a main shape including: an upper portion extending mainly in the longitudinal direction and including a first upper edge substantially flat and aligned with the longitudinal direction, a lower portion protruding at least partially in said vertical direction and downwards, a rear portion extending diagonally in relation to the longitudinal and vertical directions and including a second upper edge in direct contact with the first upper edge and extending in a direction inclined at an angle of between 20 and 70 with respect to the longitudinal directio; the first upper edge extends, in addition, in the transverse direction, more than the remaining part of the solid body.
APPARATUS FOR TREATING GERD
An implantable apparatus for treating reflux disease in a human or animal mammal patient, the implantable apparatus being configured to be fixated to the stomach of the patient and comprising two or more implantable movement restriction device segments, wherein each implantable movement restriction device segment is provided with at least one assembly element that fits with at least one assembly element of another of said two or more implantable movement restriction device segment, so the two or more implantable movement restriction device segments by said assembly elements can be assembled into an implantable assembled movement restriction device.
Method and instrument for treating obesity
A gastroscopic method of treating obesity of a patient using a device adapted to stretch a part of the stomach wall of said patient. The method comprising the steps of: inserting said device into the stomach of said patient through the esophagus, placing said device in contact with the stomach wall and fixating said device to the stomach wall such that said device can stretch a part of said stomach wall.
Acoustic stimulation for the prevention and treatment of obesity
A method for inducing a cellular or hormonal response includes using a wave-generating device to emit sound waves through an individual's skin and onto a target organ, and vibrating the target organ or a portion thereof at a frequency in resonance with the sound waves. The sound waves have a frequency of less than 200 Megahertz (MHz).
Sweden apparatus for treating GERD
The present invention relates to a reflux disease treatment apparatus, comprising two or more movement restriction device segments adapted to form an implantable movement restriction device with an elongated shape that maintains cardia in the correct position. The movement restriction device has proximal and a distal end, wherein the distal end is adapted to stabilize and hold the proximal end. The invention further comprises a control device for controlling the stimulation device to stimulate the cardia sphincter. The distal end can be further adapted to treat obesity, for example by stretching the wall of the stomach or filling out a volume of the stomach.
Wearable apparatus for the treatment or prevention of osteopenia and osteoporosis
A wearable apparatus for the treatment or prevention of osteopenia or osteoporosis, stimulating bone growth, preserving or improving bone mineral density, and inhibiting adipogenesis is disclosed where the apparatus may generally comprise one or more vibrating elements configured for imparting repeated mechanical loads to the hip, femur, and/or spine of an individual at a frequency and acceleration sufficient for therapeutic effect. These vibrating elements may be secured to the upper body of an individual via one or more respective securing mechanisms, where the securing mechanisms are configured to position the one or more vibrating elements in a direction lateral to the individual, and the position, tension, and efficacy of these vibrating elements may be monitored and/or regulated by one or more accelerometers.
WEARABLE APPARATUS FOR THE TREATMENT OR PREVENTION OF OSTEOPENIA AND OSTEOPOROSIS, STIMULATING BONE GROWTH, PRESERVING OR IMPROVING BONE MINERAL DENSITY, AND INHIBITING ADIPOGENESIS
Systems and methods for locating and/or characterizing intragastric devices
Devices and methods for treating obesity are provided. More particularly, intragastric devices and methods of fabricating, deploying, inflating, locating, tracking, monitoring, deflating, and retrieving the same are provided.
