Shoulder Support Devices and Methods
Shoulder support systems and methods for treatment of the shoulder, where the ability to maintain some level of arm rotation and abduction is desired to promote positive health outcomes and ability to perform activities of daily living. Systems may comprise a vest and at least one support strap. The vest may be configured to cover an upper portion of a torso, shoulders, and at least a portion of upper arms. Pairs of sagitally mirrored anchor points may be positioned on the body and sleeves of the vest. Support straps may be attached to the anchor points. A path of the support straps may transverse the saggital plane and spiral around an arm. Inelastic or strongly elastic cables may run a length of the support straps. Tensioning mechanisms may adjust the length of the cables to achieve the desired resistive forces for the support straps.
Limb restraint
A restraint system includes a restraint assembly and an anchor to releasably mount the restraint assembly to a component. The restraint assembly includes a tether and a cuff coupled to the tether. In addition, the restraint assembly includes a frangible cover operable to hold the tether and the cuff in a compact, stowed configuration and is sufficiently frangible to allow a person to tear open the cover. The tether is coupled to the anchor and when the cover is opened, the tether and the cuff are operable to be deployed from their stowed configuration, and the cuff extended from the anchor.
Cooling garments, warming garments, and related methods
The present disclosure generally relates to intelligent garments that provide thermal regulation in a variety of environments. The garments may include different layers such as a hydrophobic layer in direct contact with a wearer's skin surface and saturated with an aqueous mixture, a spacer layer, a reflective layer, and an outer hydrophobic layer. The layers of the garment may work together to reduce the metabolic expenditure of the wearer in extreme environmental conditions or during demanding physical activity. A variety of sensors may be displaced throughout the garments so as to enable the collection of data associated with wearers as well as environmental conditions. Wearers may control the thermal balance and other properties of the garments as desired.
Rescue strap for carrying a patient
A rescue strap is provided with a plurality of strap loops that wraps around the torso of a patient and is fed through one of the strap loops to make a girth hitch around the patient's torso. The rescue strap then wraps around the patient's upper legs and through another strap loop making another girth hitch to lift from the hips.
Bed rail safety cuff
The bed rail safety cuff may comprise a patient cuff, a bed rail clamp, and a restraint. The bed rail safety cuff may be adapted to safely restrain movement of a patient's extremity by coupling the patient's extremity to a bed rail of a hospital bed. As non-limiting examples, restraining a patient may be necessary to prevent the patient from leaving the hospital bed, from pulling out intravenous medication lines, or from damaging medical devices when incoherent. The patient cuff may be adapted to couple to the patient and the bed rail clamp may be coupled to the bed rail. The patient cuff may be coupled to the bed rail clamp by the restraint and the restraint may determine the range of motion possible while restrained. More than one of the safety cuffs may be used to restrain multiple extremities.
LIMB CAPTURE DEVICE
A limb capture device may include a base with adhesive disposed thereon and a strap for holding a limb to the base to secure the limb.
COMFORT HARNESS FOR ORTHOTIC BRACE
A comfort harness for an orthotic brace being fully adjustable and having a crescent-shaped pad located about the front shoulder of a user for dispersing a load and for added comfort for the user. Multiple straps are provided for upper back, under arm, and cross-body support for the user. The comfort harness configured to connect with a variety of orthotics for an arm, a shoulder, and the like. In some cases, the comfort harness is capable of being donned and adjusted by the user when in a supine position.
DISTRACTION FRAME FOR EFFECTING HIP DISTRACTION
A distraction frame includes a table mount for removably mounting the distraction frame to a surgical table; at least one horizontal strut mounted to the table mount; at least one vertical strut mounted to the at least one horizontal strut; and at least one distractor mounted to the at least one vertical strut, wherein the at least one distractor is configured for connection to a limb of a patient and for applying a distraction force to the limb of the patient; wherein the table mount comprises at least one wheel for selectively supporting the table mount above the floor and the at least one horizontal strut comprises at least one caster for selectively rollably supporting the at least one horizontal strut on the floor so that the distraction frame can be selectively moved to the surgical table supported by the at least one wheel and the at least one caster.
Device for preventing drooling
The device is made of two, independent bands. Each band is made of a stretchable material that can be stretched over and around a user's head. The first band is made to be placed around a user's jaw and the top of a user's head. The band comes down and across both sides of the face and around the chin of the user. This first band is used to simultaneously keep the user's jaws, mouth, and lips closed if desired. The second band is made to be placed around user's forehead and is used to keep the first band in place. The second band may or may not be physically attached to the first band.
DISPOSABLE KIT
Arrangements described herein relate to systems, apparatuses, and methods for a disposable kit containing medical items configured for a medical device including a head cradle to support a head of a subject, the disposable kit includes a container that encloses a head cradle pad configured to be affixed to the head cradle, at least one fiducial marker configured to be disposed on a location at the head of the subject, and at least one enclosure configured to cover a portion of the medical device.
