Ostomy faceplate including invertible stoma collar
A faceplate assembly for an ostomy pouch system including an invertible stoma collar is provided. The invertible stoma collar protrudes toward a stoma and defines an inlet opening. The invertible stoma collar is formed from a flexible material having an elastic memory, such that the stoma collar hugs the stoma as the stoma is received through the inlet opening, and becomes inverted. The inverted stoma collar has a tendency to regain its original shape, and thus, applies sufficient pressure to seal around the stoma without strangulating the stoma.
Ostomy pouch with tortuous path
An ostomy pouch includes an outer wall (12) having an inlet opening (24) and a filter (20), the outer wall defining an interior volume (14), an internal wall structure (16) disposed within the interior volume, a one-way valve (22) connected to the internal wall structure, and a path (18) formed by the internal wall structure, the path having an opening (28) at one end and the one-way valve at another end, wherein the filter is positioned within the path.
URINARY SYSTEM MAKING THE INVOLUNTARY EXCRETION OCCURING AFTER COLOSTOMY, ILEOSTOMY AND UROSTOMY VOLUNTARY
A urinary system is used to excrete the contents of the large intestine, small intestine and urinary bladder through the stoma after colostomy, ileostomy and urostomy and makes the involuntary excretion occurring in the stoma voluntary and is connected to the bottom adapter adhering to the skin such that it will isolate the stoma in the excretory region of the user's abdominal wall.
OSTOMY SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING A SITE OF LEAKAGE
An ostomy system, a sensor assembly (310) for an ostomy appliance of an ostomy system, and a method related to the ostomy system is disclosed. The ostomy appliance comprises a first adhesive layer (80), a sensor assembly (310), and a monitor device. The sensor assembly (310) comprises a first sensor (311) at least partly encircling the centre point and a second sensor (312) at least partly encircling the first sensor (311). The first sensor (311) comprises at least a primary sensing segment (311a) arranged in a primary sector (310A) of the sensor assembly and a secondary sensing segment (311b) arranged in a secondary sector (310B). The monitor device is configured to determine a main sector (310M) wherein liquid has been detected by the primary and/or secondary sensing segment (311a/311b), respectively, and to indicate a site of leakage from the ostomy appliance based on at least the main sector (310M).
BASE PLATE FOR AN OSTOMY APPLIANCE
A base plate (10) for an ostomy appliance is disclosed. The base plate has a proximal surface and a distal surface. The base plate comprises a first adhesive layer (110) having a proximal side including a proximal surface (111) and a distal side including a distal surface (112), an electrode assembly (120) comprising one or more electrodes (120′), and a top film (100) having a proximal surface and a distal surface. The top film is arranged on the distal side of the first adhesive layer. The electrode assembly is arranged on the proximal surface of the top film. The distal surface of the top film is the distal surface of the base plate.
CLINICAL GARMENT FOR INFANTS
An interactive one-piece pantsuit is provided for wear by an infant/toddler, when a medical device has been surgically implanted into the infant/toddler. For this purpose, the pantsuit acts as a protective garment which normally covers and protects extracorporeal components of the medical device. The garment, however, includes flaps which are positioned at key locations on the garment over the extracorporeal components of the medical device. These flaps can then be selectively raised to temporarily provide a caregiver with the necessary access to the medical device for operational or maintenance purposes.
FLUID COLLECTION ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING AT LEAST ONE LENGTH ADJUSTING FEATURE
Embodiments are directed towards fluid collection assemblies that include at least one length adjusting feature, fluid collection assemblies including the same, and methods of using the same. An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable barrier. The fluid impermeable barrier includes a distal region, at least one distal end region spaced from the distal region, and at least one intermediate portion extending from the distal region to the distal region. The fluid impermeable barrier also defines at least one length adjusting feature (“LAF”) extending from the distal end region to the distal region. The LAF allows the length of the fluid collection assembly to change. The ability of the fluid collection assembly to change the length thereof allows a penis of a patient to be disposed in preferential locations within the fluid collection assembly.
Drainable ostomy pouch
A drainable ostomy pouch outlet includes a single-piece closure member including at least one transversely-extending fold-line. The at least one transversely-extending fold-lines are configured to facilitate folding up and closing of the outlet. The single-piece closure member may also include at least one axially-extending or slanted fold-lines intersecting the at least one transversely-extending fold-line, configured to facilitate opening of the outlet.
Sensor assembly part for a medical appliance and a method for manufacturing a sensor assembly part
A base plate, a sensor assembly part and a method for manufacturing a base plate or a sensor assembly part is disclosed. The method comprises positioning a coupling part, the coupling part defining a terminal interface region; positioning an electrode assembly having a distal side and a proximal side, wherein the electrode assembly is positioned such that the distal side of the electrode assembly is facing the coupling part, the electrode assembly comprises a support layer and one or more electrodes provided on a proximal side of the support layer, each of the one or more electrodes comprising a connection part; and inserting one or more terminal elements through the electrode assembly.
