EXPANDABLE AND RETRACTABLE MENSTRUAL CUP
20220331148 · 2022-10-20 ·

A menstrual cup is provided whose body can expand to reveal an interior cavity in an open position configured to receive menstrual fluids and that can retract to a closed position such that the interior cavity of the menstrual cup is contained by the sides and body of the menstrual cup and any contained fluids are prevented from leaking out. A hook is coupled to a bottom surface of the body of the menstrual cup and can be pulled upon to close the menstrual cup and pushed upwards to open the menstrual cup. The retractability of the menstrual cup facilitates insertion into the vaginal cavity and removal without spillage of menstrual fluids. The menstrual cup includes a body with retractable sides that can close inwardly. A user can grasp the hook to manipulate the body of the menstrual cup from either a closed position or an open position.

FLUID COLLECTION WITH MULTIPORT VALVE ASSEMBLY

Embodiments of the invention relate to devices, systems, and methods for collecting fluid from a wearer. The fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier defining an interior chamber therein, a permeable body in the interior region, a conduit disposed within the interior chamber, and a multiport valve assembly. The multiport valve assembly allows a user to select a port at a longitudinal point in the interior chamber through which the collected valve can be removed.

Urostomy Drain Tube Device

The present invention relates generally to a urostomy drain tube device primarily comprised of a first end that is further comprised of a receiver, and a second end that is further comprised of an outlet and a cap, wherein both ends are connected by tubing. The receiver of the first end preferably attaches to the existing nipple or opening on the bottom of a conventional urostomy pouch, and the button allows a user to control the flow of urine from the pouch into the receiver. Thus, once the button is depressed, urine can enter the receiver and travel through the tubing and out the outlet into a toilet or urinal.

FLUID COLLECTION ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING AN EXTENSION

An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable layer. The fluid impermeable layer includes a proximal end region and a distal end region. The fluid impermeable layer also defines at least a chamber, at least one opening that may be between the proximal and distal end regions, and a fluid outlet that may be at the proximal end region. The fluid collection assembly may also include at least one porous material disposed in the chamber. The fluid collection assembly further includes an extension that is at least one of attachable or extends from the distal end region of the fluid impermeable layer. The extension is configured to be disposed within the gluteal cleft (e.g., between the buttocks) to help secure the fluid collection assembly to an individual using the fluid collection assembly.

Data collection schemes for a medical appliance and related methods

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a monitor device for an ostomy system. The monitor device comprises: a processor; memory; and a first interface connected to the processor and the memory. The first interface comprises a plurality of terminals and a data collector. The plurality of terminals includes a first terminal that forms an electrical connection with a first electrode of an ostomy appliance of the ostomy system and a second terminal that forms an electrical connection with a second electrode of the ostomy appliance. The data collector is coupled to the first and second terminals and comprises a data collection configured to collect data from the plurality of terminals according to a primary data collection scheme and collect data from the plurality of terminals according to a secondary data collection scheme. The primary data collection scheme is different from the secondary data collection scheme.
