Ostomy appliance having an adhesive wafer with sensing means
An ostomy appliance has an adhesive wafer with a backing layer and an adhesive layer attached to the backing layer. The adhesive wafer has sensing means capable of recording application of pressure to the adhesive wafer during application of the ostomy appliance to the skin.
Surgical infant diaper
A surgical infant diaper. The surgical infant diaper includes a flexible body having an interior layer and an exterior layer, wherein the flexible body further includes a front portion, a rear portion, and a central portion therebetween. The flexible body is movable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the closed position an upper opening and a pair of leg openings are defined. A central aperture extends through the front portion, wherein the central aperture is positioned to receive a penis of the wearer therethrough.
FECAL DIVERSION TUBE SYSTEM
A fecal diversion tube system. Such a system includes an inflatable balloon, a fluid tube, and a fenestrated tube that bifurcates into a fluid port and an egress port. The system may be used to protect or ameliorate an anastomotic leak and may replace or reduce the need for diverting loop ileostomy following rectal resection.
Urine output collection and monitoring system
Improved urine output collection apparatus and monitoring device features are provided. The disposable urine collection apparatus includes a collection reservoir and a diverter for controlling the flow of urine to a first passageway of the diverter in a first position and to a second passageway of the diverter in a second position, wherein the first passageway is fluidly interconnected to the collection reservoir. The disposable urine collection apparatus may include a cartridge having an internal chamber and inlet and outlet members interconnected to the cartridge, wherein the inlet member is selectively, fluidly interconnectable to the second passageway of the diverter, and wherein the outlet member is selectively, fluidly interconnectable to the collection reservoir. The monitoring device is interconnectable with the cartridge and operable to monitor a volume and/or level of urine collected within the cartridge. The cartridge may include a front portion and a reduced-width projecting portion extending rearwardly from the front portion. The projecting portion of the cartridge may be received within a recessed portion of the monitoring device. The monitoring device may include at least light source (e.g. a laser diode) for emitting a fan beam light signal into the projecting portion and a light detector array (e.g. a charge coupled device) for detection of the fan beam light signal and output of signals employable to determine a volume and/or level of collected urine.

URINE COLLECTION APPARATUSES
A urine collection device suitable for female or male use. The device may be configured to the wearer and has an open cavity with one or more one way valves through which urine may flow into an enclosed cavity. The enclosed cavity comprises a valve through which collected urine may be expelled so that the device may be reused if desired.

Devices, Systems and Methods for Regulating Flow From a Stoma on a Patient
A medical appliance is configured with material that creates a fluid barrier with interior walls of a stoma on a patient. These configurations may include an annular disc with a stem on one side that inserts into the stoma. The material may reside on the stem, for example, in the form of a replaceable hollow tube that covers at least part of the stem. On the other side, a rotatable spigot inserts into a recess. The rotatable spigot has a first position that forms a flow path through the stem and the annular disc to allow waste to drain from the stoma. In one implementation, the rotatable spigot can couple with a collection device that receives the waste. The patient can return the rotatable spigot to a second position to prevent flow of waste.
Container for menstrual collection and emptying thereof
A container for menstrual collection and emptying thereof, in the shape of a cup or of a flat cup, with a drainage tube composed of at least one very flexible thin-walled portion, and a wall portion of greater thickness. By applying an upward force on the portion, the tube is folded by its portion closing off the liquid passageway, and the tube end remaining directly anchored to the vaginal wall or below a hollow formed in the container. For a mid-day emptying, a downward force is applied on the portion to unfold the drainage tube. The horizontal rim of the cup has a number of notches to aid the folding and can have a sloped shape, or double-ringed.
CATHETER BAG MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A support system for a urine collection bag includes a waistband; a strap having a first end connected to the urine collection bag and a second end connected to the belt; and a fastener on the second end of the strap. The waistband and strap support the weight of the urine collection bag so it doesn't creep down the patient's leg and tug on the catheter and permits the patient to reposition the urine collection bag quickly and easily.
