METHODS OF ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT INCLUDING PREVENTING LISPING
Methods of orthodontic treatment that include preventing lisping. The methods may include positioning an occlusal portion of an orthodontic device over a patient's dental arch. The orthodontic device includes a barrier portion that is positioned adjacent to the occlusal portion and extends vertically beyond the occlusal portion and away from the patient's teeth such that it provides a sealing surface for the patient's tongue during speaking.
IMPROVEMENTS TO ORAL DEVICES
A device (10) having a body (12) formed from as a one-piece single unit having a first tray portion (16) for receiving the upper dental arch of the oral cavity of the wearer and a second tray portion (14) for receiving the lower dental arch of the oral cavity of the wearer. Integrally formed therewith and connecting the two tray portions are two connecting portions (18), (20) which are flexible and the two tray sections are of a design or material or combination of design and material selected to achieve retention of the trays on the teeth of a user.
DENTAL APPLIANCE FEATURES FOR SPEECH ENHANCEMENT
Provided herein are orthodontic devices and methods for patients whose orthodontic devices are causing a lisp. The device can comprise an aligner configured to fit over a patient's dental arch and comprising an occlusal surface section positioned over an occlusal surface of the patient's teeth. The aligner can comprise a barrier portion extending laterally and adjacent to a region of the dental arch, the barrier portion allowing the patient's tongue to form a seal against the barrier portion when the patient is speaking while wearing the device.

Vocal Monitoring and Biofeedback Device
A vocal dosimeter receives a first set of sensor data as sensor outputs through a sensor array including an acoustic sensor, a piezoelectric sensor, and an accelerometer. The dosimeter generates normalized sensor waveforms by filtering for an amplitude range from the quadratic mean of each individual raw sensor waveform through control of a first band-pass filter, and operates laryngeal activity detection to configure a vocalization filter with a vocalization threshold within a vocalization analysis window. A feedback control is generated in response to identifying a statistically similar vocalization amplitude in a vocal characteristic database.
SPEECH RHYTHM CONTROLLER
A speech rhythm controller for stuttering correction has an upper jaw piece and a lower jaw piece. The upper jaw piece has an upper jaw magnetic piece that attaches closely to the inner surface of the maxilla and an upper jaw alloy fixing frame for fixing the upper jaw magnetic piece. The lower jaw piece has a lower jaw magnetic piece that attaches closely to the inner surface of the mandible and a lower jaw alloy fixing frame for fixing the lower jaw magnetic piece. The lower jaw alloy fixing frame and the upper jaw alloy fixing frame are fixed to the outer surface of the teeth to ensure that the upper jaw magnetic piece and the lower jaw magnetic piece are in stably attached to the corresponding maxilla and mandible inner surfaces.

Articulation aid
An articulation aid with seats for upper and lower teeth for positioning between the upper central incisors and the lower central incisors respectively, or upper lateral incisors to lower lateral incisors as the case may be resulting in a generally vertical orientation of the article prizing the jaw in an open position. The slender aid permits a user or voice therapist to discern the instant position of the tongue when the user is speaking.
