This disclosure concerns a system for purifying contaminated water and a method for using the system. More specifically, the invention concerns removing contaminants, such as those introduced by fracking, from a contaminated water.
VAPOR-LIQUID CONTACTING APPARATUS AND PROCESS WITH DOWNCOMER AT SHELL
A high capacity and high efficiency vapor-liquid contacting apparatus and process is useful in distillation columns and other vapor-liquid contacting processes. The apparatus is characterized by a half module comprising a downcomer against a shell of a vessel for transporting liquid to a subjacent stage which utilizes a demister to effect vapor-liquid separation at the downcomer outlet.
SOLAR-POWERED CONTINUOUS DISTILLATION ASSEMBLY HAVING EFFICIENT HEAT RECOVERY
A distillation assembly which, with the aid of solar energy, continuously evaporates a feed liquor. The distillation assembly includes a container which contains the feed liquor, a container in which the distillate is collected, these containers being in thermal contact, and a compressor. The compressor compresses the vapor which is produced by boiling the feed liquor using the concentration of solar energy and/or using negative pressure, into the distillate container such that the vapor condenses there, and the evaporation enthalpy and thermal energy is returned to the feed liquor by the thermal contact.
A CONDENSATION DEDUST-DEMISTER SET
A condensation dedust-demister device, comprises at least one of the followings: a condensator, a refluent demister, a large curve demister, a mixed curve demister and a super-sine demister etc.. Said condensator with a shell/cavity style pipeline refrigerating system or cooling system can condense dust into mist/haze and be designed as the first class tube demister, consequently said refluent demister and so on can collect and dedust-demist what condensator condensed by centrifugal effect, with the assisting of easiness made by collecting liquid wall and drain as well as multiple classes composition the condensation dedust-demister set can dedust flue gas to 0 mg/Nm3 and demist to 10 mg/Nm3 when raw gas containing dust less than 20 mg/Nm3. This set can remove grains of SO3 aerosol and Hg0 etc. due to be condensed to haze at the same time.
Compact containerized system and method for spray evaporation of water
A wastewater evaporation system for spray evaporating water comprising: a wastewater feed inlet; a pump, wherein the wastewater feed inlet is fluidly connected to the pump and wherein the pump is fluidly connected to a manifold; a drip orifice, wherein the manifold is fluidly connected to the drip orifice; a container, wherein an upper portion of the container is enclosed with a demister element; a packing and/or tray system disposed within the container, wherein the drip orifice discharges water droplets onto the packing and/or tray system; a discharge outlet, wherein a bottom of the container is fluidly connected to the discharge outlet; and an air system, wherein the air system discharges air flow counter to the water droplets from the drip orifice. A method of spray evaporating water while limiting emission of particles regulated as pollutants is also disclosed.
Method and apparatus for treating waste water
A thin film, direct convection, evaporative process and apparatus for treating waste water on-site at a production area or waste water processing area relies on direct exposure of waste water to an open flame in an evaporation chamber, despite the waste water containing volatile substances, resulting in up to 99% reduction of total flow rate of waste water, and creating steam capable of being introduced safely to the environment.
Topside oil production equipment system for reduction in space and weight
A system and method for dehydrating crude oil on a floating production storage and offloading installation include a separator vessel to receive an incoming produced water stream, followed by a flash vessel, a treatment block, a crude oil storage tank, and an electrostatic treater. The treatment block includes a low pressure degasser followed by a compact electrostatic separator pre-treater or a compact electrostatic separator pre-treater followed by a low pressure degasser. The flash vessel and/or the low pressure degasser may employ an inlet cyclonic distributor and demisting cyclones, while the electrostatic treater may employ DUAL FREQUENCY technology. The separator vessel may be a single horizontal two-phase separator/degasser or two vertical two-phase separator/degassers that operate in parallel with each receiving approximately 50 percent of the incoming produced water stream. The final outlet stream preferably contains no more than 0.5 BS&W and 285 milligrams per liter salt.
HARMFUL SUBSTANCE REMOVAL SYSTEM AND METHOD
A harmful substance removal system and method include a direct contact liquid concentrator having a gas inlet, a gas outlet, a mixing chamber disposed between the gas inlet and the gas outlet, and a liquid inlet for importing liquid into the mixing chamber. Gas and liquid mixing in the are mixed chamber and a portion of the liquid is vaporized. A demister is disposed downstream of the mixing chamber. The demister includes at least one stage of mist elimination having a first filter that removes particles greater than 9 microns. A fan is coupled to the demister to assist gas flow through the mixing chamber.
