11642239 · 2023-05-09 · ·

Apparatus that enables non-penetrating sex between two users. Embodiments may be integrated into or attached to clothing worn by the first user. A tubular element (including, but not limited to, a male or female condom) may be installed either permanently or detachably; attachments at both the open and closed ends of the tubular element ensure that it will not penetrate the first user. Users may therefore enjoy many of the benefits of sex, including intimacy and mutual stimulation, without the risks inherent in penetration. Attachment for the open end may use for example an element that attaches to a base ring or flange at the open end. Illustrative attachments for the closed end include a loop into which the closed end is cinched, a notch or hole into which a button in the closed end is inserted, and a mechanism into which the closed end is inserted, folded, and secured.

COMBINATION THERAPY INTRAVAGINAL RINGS

The present invention provides improved intravaginal drug delivery devices, i.e., intravaginal rings, useful for the prophylactic administration of dapivirine in combination with either an antimicrobial compound or a contraceptive to a human. The present invention also provides methods of blocking DNA polymerization by an HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme, methods of preventing HIV infection in a female human, methods of treating HIV infection in a female human, methods of preventing unintended pregnancy in a female human, and methods of preparing intravaginal rings.

There is provided a method for controlling a flow of sperms in a uterine tube of a female patient. The method comprises electrically stimulating a uterine tube wall portion by controlling an implanted stimulation device from at least one of an external control unit and an internal control unit, wherein the electrically stimulating causes contraction of the uterine tube wall portion along a length of the portion to restrict the flow of sperms in the uterine tube.

Hot melt extrusion for pharmaceutical vaginal film products

Hot melt extrusion is disclosed as a process for forming vaginal drug delivery films. The methods involve extruding a composition comprising one or more active pharmaceutical ingredients and one or more polymer carriers at an elevated temperature through a die to thereby provide the film. Films prepared by hot melt extrusion are also described.

Cerclage pessary containing progesterone of prolonged, sustained, and continuous release useful for prevention of preterm birth

Cerclage pessary containing progesterone homogeneously distributed in the pessary body providing a prolonged, sustained and continuous release for a period of at least 6 months, wherein the pessary consists of dimethylsiloxane elastomer with RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanization) mechanism, the progesterone amount is from 20% to 30% w/w, relative to pessary weight and the ratios of the polymers forming the matrix is from 6:1 to 14 1. The cerclage pessary is useful for the prevention of preterm birth. Progesterone diffuses through the polymer continuously, without altering the shape and integrity of the pessary, since the elastomer forming the polymeric matrix used herein is not biodegradable. This guarantees that the form of pessary remains intact until the end of treatment.

INSERT FOR HUMANS AND ANIMALS AND THE PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
20170281400 · 2017-10-05 ·

The object of the invention belongs to the field of contraceptive devices, more precisely to the field of inserts for humans and animals intended for contraception.

The essence of the insert according to the invention is that the intra-vaginal or uterine insert is shaped as a letter V, wherein the insert is made of into a spiral coiled stainless steel, which is galvanized with one or more different metals selected in the group consisting of copper, silver and copper in combination with gold. The insert has two modes of function, contraceptive and healing, wherein contraceptive function is more important for human females, while the healing effect has higher importance for female animals.

Described insert for humans and animals according to the invention allows safe use. In addition, the insert with added gold has healing properties. At the same time, adjustment of dimensions depending on human or animal needs is possible, so that the insert fits perfectly, and therefore has optimal activity. Furthermore, insert insertion can be carried out according to standard and already known methods.
