Desert water generation theory and its principle application
20180036649 · 2018-02-08 ·

Applicant discloses a new viewpoint and its application for the freshwater generation here: Air temperature exchanges between the inside and outside of the deserts always play an important role in the generation of freshwater in desert environment. Because this procedure is continually happening in days and nights, and the desert area is large in the world, so, the amount of the water production by this way is extent to which one could be imagined. According the viewpoint disclosed here, it will bring big benefits to take over the shortage water plight and for the development of the desert. According this doctrine, the easiest way to collect the water from the desert is just setting an impermeable layer under the dune: the fresh water should flow out. By use of artificial stacked large amount sands can also obtain the freshwater in anywhere which the changes of the temperature are big.

System for producing fresh water and electricity using cold ocean water in combination with wind power

A system for producing potable water and electrical power utilizing the difference in temperature between ambient air and deep, cold ocean water is disclosed. Cold water from depths of 2000 feet (610 meters) or more is pumped to a liquid/gas heat exchanger in the upper portion of a hollow cylinder. Ambient air currents are concentrated and diverted into the exchanger, becoming cooler and denser. Moisture condensing from the ambient air onto the cool surface of the heat exchanger is collected and channeled to storage or piped to shore. The air gains velocity before reaching a wind turbine near the bottom of the cylinder. This turbine is connected to a generator to extract the wind energy. This extracted energy is converted to electricity by the generator and sent to shore.

CATALYZED SCR FILTER AND EMISSION TREATMENT SYSTEM

Provided is a catalyst article for simultaneously remediating the nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter, and gaseous hydrocarbons present in diesel engine exhaust streams. The catalyst article has a soot filter coated with a material effective in the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) of NOx by a reductant, e.g., ammonia.

A water production system with a thermal separation device that defines a cold region and a hot region, a fluid-air heat exchanger located remotely from the thermal separation device and exposed to air, and a fluid circulation loop that thermally connects the cold region of the thermal separation device to the fluid-air heat exchanger so as to cool the fluid-air heat exchanger and condense water from ambient air to produce water pure enough so that with further treatment it can be made potable. Also disclosed are filtration and dispensing features that are appropriate for a potable water supply.

FLUID COLLECTION CANISTER WITH INTEGRATED MOISTURE TRAP

A moisture trap for removing liquid from a fluid drawn from a tissue site treated with reduced pressure and systems and methods for using the same are described. The moisture trap may include a barrier adapted to be fluidly coupled to and define an indirect fluid path between a fluid reservoir and a reduced-pressure source. The barrier may have a hydrophilic surface. The moisture trap also may include a sump adapted to receive condensation from the barrier.

METHOD OF ADJUSTING DUTY OF HEAT EXCHANGE IN HEAT INTEGRATED DISTILLATION COLUMN

The duty of internal heat exchange can be flexibly adjusted without impairing energy saving performance of a HIDiC. A method of adjusting the duty of heat exchange in a heat exchange structure of a HIDiC includes totally condensing a portion of the vapor fed to a heat exchange structure in a heat exchange structure; and providing a liquid control valve downstream of the heat exchange structure on the first line, without providing a control valve on a vapor-flowing part of first and second lines of the HIDiC, and adjusting a flow rate of a portion of the compressor outlet vapor flowing into the heat exchange structure by using the control valve, while compensating for a pressure loss needed for the control valve by using a liquid head of a condensate, and/or by using pressurization by a pump.
