Self-regulating heater
The present invention is directed to a self regulating heater including a first layer made of a thin and flexible electrically insulating material. A second electrically conductive layer includes first and second buses spaced from each other. A third resistive layer electrically connects the first and second buses. The third layer has a higher electrical resistance than the second layer. The third layer experiences a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effect when heated. A fourth interface layer directly connected to at least one of the second electrically conductive layer and the third resistive layer directly engages skin of a patient when the heater is attached to the patient. A combined thickness of the first layer, the second conductive layer, the third resistive layer and the fourth layer may be between 5 mil and 20 mil.
Air flow system and method for air circulation therapy
The air flow system includes a hose member having an exterior flow tube and an interior flow tube, a distal connector, and a proximal connector. The air flow in the interior flow tube is separate from the exterior flow tube. Air flows from the exterior flow tube, through a flow chamber, around a treatment site of inflammation and back to the interior flow tube. The system for air circulation therapy also includes a body attachment device, an air pump supply, an air recovery unit, a temperature sensor, an air flow sensor, and a controller. The method includes inserting a body part with a treatment site within the flow chamberand sealing the flow chamber to the air flow system. Temperature regulated air flow is supplied to the treatment site in the flow chamber and collected from the flow chamber.
Heater for an incubator for infants and incubator for infants
A heater, for an incubator for infants, has a housing structure with an upper housing surface and a lower housing surface, at least one air inlet for an inflowing air stream, at least one air outlet for an outflowing air stream, at least one fan impeller, at least one heating element and at least one heat transfer element. The upper housing surface and the lower housing surface delimit a flow space. The heat transfer element is a plate with a flat surface that is arranged horizontally during operation of the heater. An incubator for infants having such a heater is also provided.
Eye moisturizer
An eye moisturizer includes: a pair of hot water containers for storing hot water from which water vapor is generated; a connection panel coupled to the hot water containers to allow the hot water containers to be spaced apart from each other; a glabella support disposed between the hot water containers to maintain a height of a user's face; a lower support protruding from the underside of the connection panel to prevent falling; and water vapor discharge portions formed on tops of the hot water containers or the connection panel to discharge the water vapor therefrom, while preventing the hot water containers from coming into contact with the eyes, where the waver vapor is fed to the eyes seeing vertically the hot water containers and to the skin around the eyes.
DEPLOYABLE COMPACT SURGICAL AND BIOLOGICAL APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USE
A collapsible containment apparatus (36) with a first hub (21), a second hub (22), a plurality of articulated arms (23, 25) coupled to the first hub (21), a plurality of support arms (24) coupled to both the second hub (22) and the articulated arms (23), and a flexible canopy (73) carried by the articulated arms (23). The apparatus (36) is collapsed by relative movement of the two hubs (21, 22) away from one another, and deployed by relative movement of the hubs (21, 22) toward one another. When the apparatus (36) is deployed the canopy (73) creates a closed interior environment, which may be sterile.
Cold Block for Decreasing Neuropathy During Chemotherapy
A cold block for cooling an extremity comprises a container defining an internal chamber. A recess is defined in the container. The recess is surrounded, in part, by the internal chamber. The recess is configured to receive an extremity of a person. In use, in one example, the internal chamber of the cold block is filled with fluid, such as water, and frozen. In another example the internal chamber contains a gel that may be cooled or frozen. A patient undergoing chemotherapy may place a respective extremity in one or more cold blocks to decrease neuropathy.
Hyperthermic cancerous tissue ablation
A system and method for hyperthermic ablation of cancerous tissue of a human patient is disclosed. A system and method include a vessel that is sized and adapted for receiving the human patient, and a circulation device outside of the vessel for circulating a thermally conductive liquid to and from the vessel, such that the portion of the human patient enclosed in the containment suit is at least partially submerged in the thermally conductive liquid when the human patient is in the vessel. The system and method further include a set of electromagnetic transmission coils at least partially around the vessel for inducing an alternating electromagnetic field around the human patient, the alternating electromagnetic field being directed, via the thermally conductive liquid, to the cancerous tissue that has been provided a conductive nanoparticle, to provide hyperthermic ablation of the cancerous tissue.
HEATING DEVICE
A heating device includes: a temperature change unit that changes a temperature of a temperature change area; an induction unit that applies a stimulus to an induction area; and a controller, wherein the induction area is an area on skin surface, or an area that occupies a space that can be perspectively projected on the skin surface, the induction area is an area that does not overlap with the temperature change area, the induction unit applies at least one of a tactile stimulus and a visual stimulus to the induction area, the controller executes a first control for changing a temperature of a first temperature change area of the temperature change area and a second control for applying a stimulus to a first induction area of the induction area, and the second control is performed in accordance with the first control.
Warming therapy patient care units with automated warm-up modes
Described herein is a system including a patient support unit having a patient environment, a heating module, a sensor module, and a control system. The control system is configured to selectively operate the system in a pre-programmed warm-up mode configured to gradually warm the patient in the patient environment according to a series of stepped skin temperature increases performed over a series of stepped time durations to achieve a goal skin temperature. Related apparatus, system, methods and/or articles are described.
